The condition of heritage and historic timber constructions depends on how they are exploited. Numerous environmental factors degrade the physical and mechanical properties of timber and hence, affect the load-bearing capacity of constructions. As a result, frequent evaluations of their technical condition become necessary. Currently, modern technologies allow for extensive diagnostics of timber constructions using non-destructive and semi-destructive methods; yet, in contrast to classical laboratory tests, there is insufficient knowledge of the impact of individual factors on the results of such studies. This article presents an assessment of the influence of the moisture content of timber elements on the results of ultrasonic stress wave, sclerometric, and resistance drilling tests. Additionally, computed tomography scans were performed on selected samples to demonstrate the destruction mechanism occurring during the semi-destructive tests. The research involved three types of wood: pine, spruce, and fir of different moisture contents. The results reveal a strong relation between the moisture of timber and all the tests conducted in terms of both hygroscopic and capillary moisture.
W artykule przedstawiono wybrane przykłady projektów wzorcowych szkól jednoi dwuklasowych z okresu międzywojennego zalecanych do realizacji w niepodległej Polsce. Omówione zostały projekty wybitnych polskich architektów i ich główne cechy, takie jak forma architektoniczna, układ funkcjonalny i sposób organizowania przestrzeni wokół szkół zgodnie z ustalonymi przepisami prawnymi.
Bramy i kordegardy stanowiły istotną część ogrodzeń większości założeń dworskich i pałacowych.
The changes taking place in recent years are particularly evident in small towns. This is due to the scale of development. Any change in the proportion interfere the composition. The traditional wooden architecture in eastern regions of Poland disappears completely. In their place there are created houses that can be found in many other regions. This way, the identity of the small towns this part of the Poland is lost. In accordance with European Union directives concerning the revitalization we should care about the quality and aesthetics of public spaces. Regeneration processes should be in accordance with art conservation, including the purposes of preservation of historic landscapes. Unfortunately, in many cases, renewal processes carried out in small towns have completely lost their architecture as well as distinctive characteristic of public spaces and native greenery. Currently, the historic wooden architecture is a relic of the in situ and, paradoxically, we have come to the stage of exploring the open-air museum in which it is possible to see typical architecture and structure of Polish towns (e.g. in Lublin).
Piotra i Pawła, pw. Najświętszego Serca Pana Jezusa, św. Józefa oraz św. Michała Archanioła.
