Enormously studied by specialists, the leadership of organizations is a primordial issue because the leader’s style conditions the efficiency of any social organization. This is one of the reasons why the current scientific concerns focus on studying the ways of improving leadership and the choice of leaders who have the skills and capabilities to successfully perform such functions. This paper deals with the characteristics of the military organization and the complex environment in which it operates, imposing major demands on the military leaders, who must develop certain skills and abilities in order to cope with the wide range of challenges they are confronted with on the modern battlefield. It also points to the features of charismatic leaders, drawing the attention to the relationship between subordinates and leaders, a relationship that is based on an emotional, spiritual, even non-rational bond between leaders and followers.
In terms of forming and training the fighters, the modern armies have delineated well-defined instructive horizons, the development of the physical potential, characterized by the increase of the parameters of manifestation of the basic motor qualities as well as of the motor skills and applicative skills specific to carrying out the combat actions being very well harmonized with the development of intellectual, psychological, moral and specialist competencies. The maximization of the capacity of effort to meet the intensive and long-lasting demands as well as the improvement of the fighting skills specific to the modern combat area represent a permanent concern of the specialists in the field, who amplify the training process in an activity based on the most complex and efficient training techniques. The paper presents the techniques, methods and means for optimizing the training in the self-defense combat, in order to ensure a rich bag of scientific information necessary in accomplishing the objectives for the training of the fighters.
Judo, a sport playing a vital role in the training of the military, leads to the achievement of positive, multiple and unique effects, both in terms of developing the motor skills, but also in the formation, consolidation and improvement of applicative skills and aptitudes specific to close combat. The paper highlights the fact that the methods and contents specific to combat sports represent a useful and effective way of meeting the formative objectives in the context of the current Romanian Army missions, facilitating the physical adaptation of the combatants to the new demands imposed by the modern battlefield, characteristic of the actions carried out by NATO military structures.
The intrinsic links between national security and other types of security also results from the fact that the threats and challenges of the 21st century no longer address the national segment, but also the entire international community, which causes the occurence of security structures at all levels to manage the crises that arise at some point internationally. It is known that in terms of security, states usually adopt a mutual security and defense policy, using human, material, financial and information resources available to everyone in a collective manner. If NATO is a good and eloquent example in this sense, a viable solution against risks and security threats from a regional perspective appeared in the European Union, which has its own policy for security and defense able to integrate national security politicy the of Member States in that of the Union.
