Examination of blood glucose levels 2 hours pp is required to diagnose diabetes mellitus. Currently many clinical laboratories, hospitals and clinics are still modest usually use tool for the examination of blood glucose levels is by glucometer that emit relatively fast results. In contrast to the large hospital and clinical laboratories that have been developed have used the analyzer tool as an advanced tool that can check more parameters clinical examination which will get accurate results. To the authors want to prove whether there are differences in the results of blood glucose levels 2 hours pp using glucometer and analyzer. This research is experimental. The population in this study were patients with diabetes mellitus in hospital Throughout Siti Khadija. The samples used were serum and whole blood from the blood vena.Variabel free is the way 2-hour blood glucose tests using a glucometer and analyzer pp and the dependent variable is the blood glucose levels 2 hours pp. While the operational definition, examination of blood glucose 2 hours pp by using 2 kinds of tools, namely glucometer and analyzer. Methods of data collection of 20 samples taken from patients with DM in Hospital Khodijah Throughout Siti. To know the results used paired t test. The results showed that there were significant differences between the glucometer and glucose analyzer examination 2 hours pp based on the results of paired t test with sig value greater than 0.05 and the average levels of the glucometer 207.65 mg / dl and analyzer 193.85 mg / dl.
Work that requires being in a humid area, can cause fungal infections. Skin fungal infections in humans can be divided into two, namely dermatophytosis and non-dermatophytosis. Dermatophytosis is a superficial fungal infection that attacks the keratinized parts of the skin, nails and hair and is caused by 3 genera, namely Microsporum, Epidermophyton, and Trichophyton. While non dermatophytosis is a fungal infection of the outer skin or this type of fungal infection does not reach the keratin tissue. Non-dermatophyte fungi include Aspergillus sp., Malessezia furfur. Due to dermatophyte and non-dermatophyte fungal infections, namely itching of the skin or earlobe. This activity aims to increase the understanding of cleaning workers at one of the universities in Surabaya about the dangers of fungus on the skin, so that they can prevent and anticipate early spread. The method used in this community service activity is the presentation and discussion of the dangers of skin fungal infections. To measure the level of understanding of the participants regarding the dangers of toxoplasmosis, a pretest was conducted at the beginning and at the end of the activity. This activity was attended by 22 janitors, both male and female. The average pretest score is 49,63 points, while the average posttest score is 71,48 points. These results indicate that there is an increase in the knowledge of cleaning workers at one of the universities in Surabaya about the causes, dangers, modes of transmission and methods of preventing skin fungal diseases. Educational activities are expected to be sustainable so that the community can apply steps to prevent skin fungal infections.
ABSTRACT Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the leading cause of death after stroke in all age groups at 12.9%. The main reason is the amount of cholesterol in the blood. Tamarind (Tamarindus indica) is a traditional herb that has the potential to lower cholesterol, because it contains flavonoids, saponins, foliphenols, pectin, organic acids, vitamin B and vitamin C that can lower cholesterol. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of tamarind seed powder (Tamarindus indica) on cholesterol levels. This type of research is experimental with pre-test and post-test with control group research design. The population and sample of this study were a group of mice totaling 32 mice. The location of this research was conducted at the Animal Husbandry Center (PUSVETMA). Data collection procedures were carried out by examining the cholesterol levels of mice before and after treatment. The data obtained were followed up with normality test and independent t test. The results of the study using the unpaired t test gave the result of p=0.000 (p<0.05). The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of seed powder (Tamarindus indica) on cholesterol levels. Keyword : Seeds Tamarindus indica L., cholesterol levels, Mice (Mus musculus)
The screening blood test is a stage that is carried out by each PMI to ensure the safety before blood transfusion. It is usually done on antibodies (Ab) such as anti-HCV, anti-HIV, TPHA or antigen (Ag) such as HBsAg. HBsAg is the outer coat protein of hepatitis B virus (HBV) and a sign that the individual has been infected with the hepatitis B virus. Hepatitis B virus can cause acute problems and even cirrhosis of the liver. One of the screening blood test methods which is used to detect hepatitis B is ELISA (Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay) method. This research was conducted at UTD PMI Sampang by using the data collection in February 2020, and aimed to find out the overview of HBsAg examination results on the screening blood test using ELISA method based on age and sex. Based on the screening blood test, 9 people (3%) were reactive HBsAg and 345 people (97%) were non-reactive. In the age category, the highest number of reactive HBsAg donors was in the age group of 18-24 years old, that was 4 donors (1.1%), while the highest number of non-reactive HBsAg donors was in the age group of 25-44 years old, that was 184 people ( 51.9%). In the gender category, donors with the most reactive HBsAg results were male, that was 8 people (2.3%) and donors with the highest non-reactive HBsAg results was male, that was 283 people (79.9%). In order to minimize hepatitis B, it is expected that society should avoid activities which can cause hepatitis B infection. Keywords : HBsAg, Blood Transfusion, Screening Blood Test
Sugar disease or diabetes is commonly known in medical terms with diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by an increase in blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia) that occurs due to the body's lack of the hormone insulin both absolute and relative. Glucose is a form of carbohydrate metabolism that functions as the main source of energy controlled by insulin. Excess glucose is converted into glycogen which will be stored in the liver and muscles for backup if needed. Increased blood glucose levels occur in patients with Impaired Glucose Tolerance (TGT), Impaired Fasting Blood Sugar (GDPT) and Diabetes Mellitus. Service activities in the form of education related to the dangers of Diabetes Mellitus, the use of natural ingredients as an alternative to lowering sugar levels and checking Random Blood Sugar levels. There is an increase in public knowledge because the post-test value is higher when compared to the pre-test value. The average pre-test score is 38.3 points while the average post-test score is 79.2 points. And the results of the GDA examination stated 23 people whose results were above normal and 13 people whose results were still within the normal range.
