Resumen: Este trabajo muestra la percepción de la población humana asentada en las siete áreas naturales protegidas federales de Baja California Sur, desde el punto de vista del conocimiento empírico sobre los cambios en el medio ambiente y recursos naturales ante efectos del Cambio Climático (CC). Se recolectaron datos a partir de la aplicación de 250 encuestas cualitativas en 2011. Los resultados muestran que la mayor parte de la población conoce el significado de CC y que los efectos que perciben son reducción en la superficie forestal por cambio en uso de suelos, reducción de la actividad pesquera por cambios en las condiciones del mar, efectos negativos en el hato ganadero y frecuencia e intensidad de huracanes, aumento en sequías, falta de agua y reducción en la actividad ecoturística por cambios en las playas. Estudios han demostrado que la valoración subjetiva de la población humana contribuye a cambios en el comportamiento mediante una estrategia de adaptación y toma de conciencia del ciudadano.Palabras clave: percepción, población humana, cambio climático, área natural protegida. Perception of the population about climate change in protected natural areas of 'Baja California Sur', MexicoAbstract: This work shows the perception of the human population settled in the seven federal natural protected areas of 'Baja California Sur', from the point of view of empirical knowledge about changes in the environment and natural resources in front of the effects of climate change (CC). Data was collected from the application of 250 qualitative surveys in 2011. Studies have shown that subjective valuation of the population contributes to behavioral change through a strategy of adaptation and of citizen awareness.
El objetivo de esta investigación es conocer el grado de conocimiento de la población que vive y/o trabaja en la zona de influencia del Estero San José del Cabo sobre la conservación del área, así como su opinión y percepción sobre el desempeño y trabajo del gobierno sobre acciones para la conservación. Durante 2014 aplicó una encuesta cualitativa y cuantitativa. Los resultados muestran que 93% conoce lo que es un ANP, 77% percibe beneficios al vivir/trabajar cerca de un ANP, solo 38% conoce la existencia del programa de manejo, 36% percibe que sus actividades económicas y sociales fueron afectadas tras la creación del ANP, 23% percibe mejora en oportunidades de empleo; 74% opina que la vigilancia de los administradores es nula, 65% de ellos perciben que no se invierten recursos financieros, humanos e infraestructura para el manejo de la reserva. Finalmente 52% opinan que la aplicación de instrumentos normativos y sanciones administrativas es nula.
El objetivo es estimar los determinantes del nivel de satisfacción del visitante a partir de atributos en cuatro Pueblos Mágicos (PM) ubicados en la región noroeste de México, Todos Santos y Loreto de Baja California Sur (BCS), El Rosario y Cosalá de Sinaloa. Método: Se adaptó el Modelo de Satisfacción del Turista (MST) de la Secretaría de Turismo de México (SECTUR) y se apoya en la estimación de un modelo Probit bivariado como el enfoque econométrico adecuado para modelar conjuntamente la satisfacción general y la satisfacción de cada atributo a partir de la aplicación de 384 encuestas. Resultados: De acuerdo a la MST el índice de satisfacción de El Rosario es de 7.6, Cosalá de 8.5, Loreto de 8.5 y Todos Santos 8.4. Las variables independientes que conforman los bloques del perfil del turista, los motivos del viaje, experiencia de los servicios, percepción de los servicios y estadía y gasto fueron predictores significativos para los dos tipos de satisfacción. Conclusiones: Los visitantes acuden a PM para pasar el tiempo con fines de esparcimiento, tranquilidad y conocimiento de los lugares por ser atractivos naturales y turísticos. Los sitios estudiados tienen diversas áreas de oportunidad en aspectos como la seguridad, transporte y servicios de recreación. Asimismo, no necesariamente los sitios con mayor afluencia son aquellos donde se evalúa mejor los atributos analizados.
La presente investigación presenta los resultados de cuatro estudios de caso en empresas hoteleras ubicadas en Mazatlán, México y que se orientan hacia la sostenibilidad como forma de administrarse y hacer negocios. El objetivo fue realizar una evaluación de la cultura organizacional de estas empresas que pretenden ser identificadas como sostenibles. El estudio se realiza con la premisa de darle continuación a trabajos anteriores sobre el tema ya realizados, que utilizaron el Organization Culture Assesment Instrument (OCAI)1 para la evaluación de la cultura, con la diferencia de que aquí se utilizaron además instrumentos de corte cualitativo como la entrevista y la observación no participante. Los resultados muestran una orientación, en todos los casos de estudio, hacia una cultura organizacional de tipo clan lo cual difiere en cuanto a los que obtuvieron los autores mencionados, por lo que se infiere que el contexto geográfico, cultural e histórico juega un papel determinante en cuanto a la forma en que se puede alcanzar la sostenibilidad en una empresa.
