-The effect of eight fungicides and twelve insecticides used in lettuce and chrysanthemum crops, was evaluated on the fungi Beauveria bassiana (Bals.) Vuill., Metarhizium anisopliae (Metsch.) Sorok., Paecilomyces fumosoroseus (Wise) (Holm ex SF Gray) and Verticillium lecanii (Zimmerman) through in vitro tests. The products were added to petri dishes containing culture medium (PDA), according to the concentrations recommended for application in field. After the inoculation of the fungi, the plates were incubate at 25±1°C, 12h fotophase and 70±10% relative humidity. The mean diameter of colonies and the number of conidia produced after a variable period of incubation for each studied fungus were evaluated. The insecticides thiametoxan and imidacloprid were compatible with all the fungi studied. On the other hand, cuprous oxide, iprodione, methyl parathion, tebuconazol, metalaxil, mancozeb, folpet, fenpropathrin and tetraconazol inhibited the growth of the fungi, being classified as toxicant or very toxicant products to the entomopathogens.KEY WORDS: Insecta, microbial control, integrated control, insecticide, fungicide.RESUMO -O efeito de oito fungicidas e doze inseticidas, utilizados nas culturas de alface e crisântemo, foi avaliado in vitro sobre os fungos entomopatogênicos Beauveria bassiana (Bals.) Vuill., Metarhizium anisopliae (Metsch.) Sorok., Paecilomyces fumosoroseus (Wise) (Holm ex SF Gray) e Verticillium lecanii (Zimmerman). Os produtos foram colocados em placas de Petri contendo meio de cultura (BDA), nas concentrações recomendadas para aplicação em campo. Após a inoculação dos fungos, as placas foram incubadas em sala climatizada a 25±1°C, fotofase de 12h e umidade relativa de 70±10%. Foram avaliados o diâmetro médio das colônias e o número de conídios produzidos após um período de incubação variável para cada fungo estudado. Os inseticidas tiametoxam e imidaclopride foram compatíveis com todos os fungos estudados. Por outro lado, óxido cuproso, iprodione, paratiom metílico, tebuconazole, metalaxil, mancozebe, folpete, fenpropatrina e tetraconazole inibiram o crescimento dos fungos, sendo classificados como produtos tóxicos ou muito tóxicos aos entomopatógenos. Screening of Metarhizium Anisopliae (Metsch.) Sorok. Strains against the Sugarcane Root Spittlebug Mahanarva Fimbriolata (Stål) (Hemiptera: Cercopidae) in Laboratory ABSTRACT-The accumulated mulch on the soil resultant from the mechanized cutting of sugarcane promotes favorable temperature and moist to Mahanarva fimbriolata (Stål), a pest that causes serious problems due to its widespread occurrence and high populations. Seventy nine isolates of Metarhizium anisopliae (Metsch.) Sorok. from different hosts and regions were tested for their pathogenicity. Ten spitlebugs were put in petri dishes (9 cm of diameter) containing sugarcane leaves sprayed with 1 ml of a suspension containing 5 x 10 7 conidia/ml. Five replicates were used per treatment. The petri dishes were kept at 25 ± 1°C, 70 ± 10% RH and 12h photophase. Insects were monitored daily to calculate total cumulative mortality, as well as corrected and confirmed mortality for each treatment. The best tested isolates were: IBCB 348, IBCB 351, IBCB 363, IBCB 408, IBCB 410, IBCB 418, IBCB 425 and IBCB 482, which showed confirmed mortality equal or higher than 70%, six days after spraying.

Understanding mortality patterns and interactions between entomopathogenic fungi and parasitoids is important to improve insect biological control programs. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of Metarhizium anisopliae (Metschnikoff, 1879) Sorokin, 1833 and Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo) Vuillemin, 1912 (Hypocreales: Clavicipitaceae) on adults of Cotesia flavipes (Cameron, 1891) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) with biological insecticides Biometha WP Plus ® (M. anisopliae), Biovéria G ® (B. bassiana), Boverril WP ® (B. bassiana), Metarril WP ® (M. anisopliae), and Metiê WP ® (M. anisopliae) at concentrations of 1 × 10 9 conidia (con).mL-1 , 5 × 10 9 con.ml-1 , and 10 × 10 9 con.ml-1. In the experimental, 10 females of C. flavipes were packed in disposable cups capped with a contact surface (filter paper, 9 cm 2) treated with commercial product. The experimental design was completely randomized, with 16 treatments and five replicates of 10 females each. Mortality was assessed at 24, 48, 72, 96, and 120 hours after exposition (HAE) of the products. In general, B. bassiana and M. anisopliae in the concentrations of 1 × 10 9 con.ml-1 , 5 × 10 9 con.ml-1 , and 10 × 10 9 con.ml-1 can't affect C. flavipes females because the peak of mortality in treatments with bioinsecticides was similar to the control and this demonstrated the selectivity of fungi B. bassiana and M. anisopliae on C. flavipes females.

PATOGENICIDADE DE Verticillium lecanii AO PULGÃO-DO-PINUS 1RESUMO -Avaliou-se a patogenicidade do isolado IBCB 473 de Verticillium lecanii no pulgão-do-pinus Cinara atlantica (Hemiptera, Aphididae), inseto-praga em plantios de Pinus spp. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o inteiramente casualizado, com cinco repetições por tratamento e cada repetição constituída de uma placa de Petri (9 cm de diâmetro) contendo 10 ninfas. Foram testadas suspensões de inóculo nas concentrações de 1,0 ´ 10 6 ; 0,5 ´ 10 7 ; 1,0 ´ 10 7 ; 0,5 ´ 10 8 ; e 1,0 ´ 10 8 conídios/mL, pulverizando-se 1 mL sobre as ninfas. Como tratamento-testemunha, utilizou-se água esterilizada. As placas de Petri foram mantidas em câmara climatizada a 25 ± 1 °C, 70 ± 10% de UR e fotofase de 12 horas. As avaliações foram realizadas diariamente, anotando-se a mortalidade dos indivíduos de cada tratamento. A dose mais eficiente foi de 1,0 x 10 8 conídios/ mL, causando mortalidade de 86,0% após cinco dias da pulverização. Os valores de TL 50 das concentrações utilizadas foram de 5,82; 5,24; 4,60; 4,34; e 3,83 dias, respectivamente.Palavras-chave: Fungo entomopatogênico, controle biológico, praga florestal. LT 50 for each concentration was 5,82; 5,24; 4,60; 4,34 and 3,83 days, respectively.
