Starting from a reflection on the concept of dispositif, the article questions some approaches to design and analyzes their use in the field of health and wellness through two examples of connected objects (Fitbit and Apple Watch). Starting from the observation that some mobile health devices are not well adapted to users, we then present the Som'Health research program on chronic sleep disorders that we have been carrying out since 2016. Based on this fieldwork, we propose a new approach to the design of mobile health devices for monitoring chronic diseases, grounded in two theoretical models: the theory of use and the ethics of design.
