A argumentação é geralmente descrita como uma atividade social e de natureza discursiva na qual indivíduos que expressam pontos de vista divergentes sobre um tema defendem suas posições com vistas ao convencimento de seus interlocutores (Eemeren, Grootendorst & Kruiger, 1987). Nesta perspectiva a argumentação se define, portanto, como uma atividade de natureza Contra-Argumentos na Escrita Infantil

Dentro do campo das possibilidades de investigações em torno da literatura infantil no Brasil, a análise de obras com maior e melhor recepção pelas crianças traz uma série de elementos capazes de promover reflexões acerca das preferências pelo público-alvo, que podem contribuir para pensar as mediações possíveis no contexto da Educação Básica. Desse modo, este artigo tem como objeto a análise de obras literárias mais requisitadas por crianças matriculadas no terceiro ano do Ensino Fundamental do Centro Pedagógico da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (CP-UFMG). Para isso a metodologia adotada é a pesquisa documental, tendo as seguintes etapas de desenvolvimento: em um primeiro movimento a partir de uma lista gerada pelo sistema de bibliotecas, foi feito o levantamento de todas as obras que foram emprestadas ao longo de um ano letivo pelas duas turmas, identificando cada empréstimo individualmente. Em um segundo momento, foi feita a análise das obras mais requisitadas por uma das turmas. Os resultados obtidos até o momento apontam para uma preferência por obras com projetos gráfico-editoriais semelhantes com destaque para cores vibrantes e com recorrência da temática de trocadilhos, adivinhas e anedotas. As análises permitem identificar conexão entre a fase de consolidação da alfabetização e a intensa exposição às habilidades de consciência fonológica com escolhas literárias que privilegiam o aspecto lúdico da língua e a possibilidade da interação nos livros. A pesquisa também traz alguns apontamentos importantes em relação à seleção e adequação ao público-alvo em determinadas partes da coleção analisada.
