ResumoEste estudo teve como objetivo geral analisar de que modo os vocábulos "assim", "tipo" e "tipo assim" são abordados na fala de alunos da rede pública da cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes/RJ. Buscamos verificar os usos/funções e a frequência dos vocábulos em estudo em textos orais de 30 alunos da Educação Básica. Observamos que os vocábulos "assim" e "tipo" exerceram, na maioria dos casos, todas as funções categorizadas. Porém, o "tipo assim" teve apenas a função de preenchedor de pausa.

AbstractThis study aimed to examine how the words "assim", "tipo" and "tipo assim" are discussed in the speech of public school students in the city of Campos dos Goytacazes/ RJ. We seek to verify as well as the uses/ functions and the frequency of words in oral texts studied in 30 students of Basic Education. We observed that the words "assim" and "tipo" exercised, in most cases, all functions categorized. But the "tipo assim" had only the function of filler pause.
