Встановлені особливості визначення класів і розмірів вибухонебезпечних зон, що створюються газо- пароповітряним вибухонебезпечним середовищем навколо зовнішніх установок. Національна класифікація вибухонебезпечних зон здійснюється двома методами, один з яких є детермінованим, а другий – розрахунковим. Газо- пароповіряне вибухонебезпечне середовище може утворювати вибухонебезпечні зони класів 0, 1, 2. Для розрахункового методу вихідними параметрами є кліматичні умови, властивості небезпечні речовин, ступінь витоку та рівень вентиляції. Визначається інтенсивність витоку небезпечної речовини, розраховуються гіпотетичний об’єм вибухонебезпечного середовища, якій порівнюється з фіксованим значенням загального об’єму, що вентилюється. Гіпотетичний об’єм та час існування вибухонебезпечного середовища залежать від швидкості вітру за гіперболічним законом. На прикладі зовнішньої установки у вигляді негерметичної муфти надземного газопроводу природного газу показано, що швидкість вітру оказує суттєвий вплив на величину гіпотетичного об’єму вибухонебезпечного середовища. При швидкості, що відповідає за шкалою Бофорта тихому вітру, навколо зовнішньої установки створюється вибухонебезпечна зона класу 1. При швидкості, що відповідає за шкалою Бофорта легкому вітру, створюється вибухонебезпечна зона класу 2. Зниження температури навколишнього середовища призводить до зменшення величини гіпотетичного об’єму вибухонебезпечного середовища. Інтенсивність витоку небезпечної речовини суттєво впливає на клас вибухонебезпечної зони. Для кожного виду небезпечної речовини необхідно визначати граничне значення інте-нсивності витоку, вище якої має місце вибухонебезпечна зона класу 1, а нижче – класу 2. Час існування вибухонебезпечного середовища не залежить від температури навколишнього середовища й інтенсивності витоку та швидко зменшується зі збільшенням швидкості вітру
