In the context of the pandemic caused by the spread of COVID-19, the problems of organizing the educational process based on digital technologies came to the fore, and therefore close attention was paid to distance education. At the same time, to optimize the educational process, questions arise about the use of smart technologies. In this regard, there is often a replacement of concepts such as distance education and smart education. Smart education is often viewed as a form of distance education based on communication and information technology. The article compares two educational systems: distance education and smart education. As a result of the analysis, the main positions were identified that showed the integrity of each of the educational systems under consideration.
The purpose of this article is to determine project-based learning (PjBL) from the characteristics, effectiveness and implementation aspects of science and science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) education. Eric database was used in order to investigate key words. Thus, this mini review reviewed 36 articles on PjBL for science and STEAM education based on the available Eric database reference. The data obtained were analyzed using content analysis methods. The results showed that on average PjBL can be categorized as a learning model that can improve student learning outcomes in science learning and train students in problem solving (critical thinking). The review reveals that PjBL has an influence on student learning, especially in science and STEAM education. From this article, it can be concluded and can be recommended three recommendations related to the essential success of PjBL in schools.
The study examines the concept of just war in the military-political discourse and technologies of manipulating the mass consciousness used by the leaders of the Russian and American states in speeches based on the idea of just war. Lexical and semantic analysis of the lexemes “just” and “war” in Russian and English is carried out. The relevance of the study is determined by the increasing attention to the military-political discourse and actualization of the concept. It received consistent substantiation and development in the works of medieval scholastics. In the 21st century, it serves the purposes of moral and ethical justification of modern military conflicts. The purpose of the study was to analyze the concept of just war at the lexical and semantic level and describe its ontological foundations and implementation in the Russian and American mental lexicons. Based on the analysis, the authors have identified general and particular aspects of the just war concept in the Russian and American mental lexicons and described the mechanisms of mind control in the political discourses of B. Obama and V.V. Putin.
This research assesses the results of electronic platforms implementation in the process of teaching English at the University and effectiveness of this technology in facilitating English language learning. The paper reports the outcomes of the research targeted to evaluate the enforcement of the electronic platform Rosetta Stone (RS) and its role in terms of academic achievement. For collecting data, we used combined procedures including quantitative as well as qualitative. The quantitative method incorporated students’ responses to statements by means of a paper-based questionnaire. The qualitative element comprised interviews, which the researchers had with their students. Students shared their points of view about their work with RS. Results suggest that the attitude of students towards application of e-learning platform can be taken into consideration as an important component for effective enhancement of the academic program. Special attention is given to personal learning environment (PLE). PLE is considered to be of great importance for developing teaching focused on individual learners. The current study proves integration of electronic platforms with language material can support students in language learning. It gives learners good chances to choose educational content taking into consideration their professional development and the level of foreign language skills and abilities.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
