O presente estudo tem por objetivo analisar e discutir a produção acadêmico-científica sobre a Educação Física, centrada especificamente na Educação Escolar Indígena. As buscas foram realizadas no Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da CAPES e nos periódicos nacionais da Educação Física e da Educação que publicam na Área 21. Durante o processo de leitura e agrupamento temático das materialidades encontradas, a interculturalidade ganhou relevância devido ao diálogo que suas produções apresentam tanto para Educação Escolar Indígena quanto para o componente curricular da Educação Física. A dialogicidade passou a ser a categoria central de análise em razão de apresentar desde uma perspectiva crítica relações muito próximas entre a visão intercultural e os saberes que a Educação Física pode desenvolver para o reconhecimento desse “outro” cultural. O resultado do processo de análise foi a interpretação de uma “subalternidade” no tratamento e circulação das questões indígenas tanto no campo da Educação Física quanto nos periódicos que publicam na área 21.
