Este texto, a partir de um arquivo documental, ocupa-se com a forma como a revista O Cruzeiro narrou o golpe militar, ocorrido em 31 de março de 1964, no Brasil. A análise se dá por meio da edição especial do periódico, publicada no dia 10 de abril do mesmo ano, a qual concedeu exclusividade ao assunto. Para tanto, apresentamos um estudo das principais teorias do jornalismo e das condições de produção em que ocorreram os fatos, recorrendo a alguns conceitos da Análise de Discurso de linha francesa. Por fi m, assinalamos a benevolência com que as classes dominantes são tratadas pelos grandes meios de comunicação, bem como o impacto que a formação discursiva (FD) que abriga saberes desta relação pode exercer sobre o conjunto da sociedade.
Neste texto, propomos um diálogo entre Comunicação Social e Teoria do Discurso por meio do fotojornalismo. Para tanto, tomamos materialidades discursivas imagéticas produzidas na cobertura das eleições presidenciais de 2014 como representativas de disputas que se operam no e pelo discurso a partir de formações discursivas antagônicas. Nesse panorama, o fazer jornalístico é compreendido como prática discursiva, como efeito de sentido entre locutores, para retomar Pêcheux. Ao tratar das especificidades dessa linguagem, buscamos compreender que a notícia produz sentido na medida em que resulta de processos sócio-históricos, sob os quais incidem os níveis político, social, econômico e linguístico.
Escrito em meio ao crescimento das lutas operárias, na Rússia, em 1913, As Três fontes constitutivas do marxismo, de Vladimir Lenin, reúne elementos representativos da concepção científi ca que toma como base o marxismo-leninismo. Provocadoramente atual, a visão materialista da história refuta o discurso da escola neoclássica, cuja crítica, ainda hoje, baseia-se em um suposto "medo" de que sejam retomadas leituras capazes de colocar em xeque as condições concretas de produção; desafi ando, assim, os limites da democracia liberal.Diferente de muitos teóricos marxistas, Lenin procurou comprovar, na prática, o método de análise proposto por Karl Marx e Frederich Engels no fi nal século XIX. Foi com este intuito que nasceram os escritos por ora tomados como base para a presente refl exão. Em meio à expansão da imprensa, os panfl etos publicados pelas lideranças operárias foram vistos como instrumentos de agitação e propaganda, cuja fi nalidade era, sem dúvidas, contribuir para a organização coletiva dos trabalhadores.Esta nota introdutória é de fundamental importância para a compreensão dos conceitos-chave dos quais trata Lenin, pois ajuda a entender não só o processo de transformação social ocorrido na Rússia, no início do século XX, mas também a refl etir sobre a crise ideológica enfrentada, hoje, pela esquerda em várias partes do mundo -inclusive no Brasil. Procurando responder O que é marxismo?, o texto As três fontes constitutivas do marxismo, publicado originalmente no número 3 da revista bolchevique Prosveschenie, em março de 1913, é acompanhado por outros três textos no livro aqui resenhado.Trata-se de uma publicação especial da editora Expressão Popular, de 2006, que, além de tratar das três partes constitutivas do pensamento marxista, apresenta, por ordem, um breve histórico da obra de Karl Marx, ocupando-se, na sequência, de uma refl exão perspicaz sobre as contribuições de Frederich Engels para a teoria marxista. O último texto é a reprodução de uma carta de Lênin aos operários russos, escrita em 1 Doutorando pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras na UCPel. 2 Doutora em Letras pela UFRGS, na área de Teorias do Texto e do Discurso.
