RESUMOO presente trabalho teve por objetivo identificar o conhecimento dos acadêmicos de enfermagem sobre o uso, pelo enfermeiro, das Terapias Alternativas Complementares (TACs), particularmente da acupuntura, bem como as informações obtidas ao longo do seu curso de graduação em enfermagem. É um estudo descritivo e exploratório-prospectivo e foi realizado com acadêmicos de enfermagem de uma universidade privada do Interior Paulista em 2007. Foram entrevistados 106 acadêmicos. Para a obtenção dos dados utilizou-se um instrumento que continha dados sociodemográficos, dados sobre conhecimento formal e informal, fonte das informações e a legalidade do uso, pelo enfermeiro, das TACs, particularmente da acupuntura. A análise das respostas foi realizada através de frequência simples. Os dados revelaram que 72,01% eram do sexo feminino, que 67,90% tinham idade de 18 a 25 anos e que a maioria já tinha conhecimento da existência das TACs, principalmente da acupuntura (34,04%). Com relação ao conhecimento dos acadêmicos sobre qual TAC pode ser utilizada legalmente pelo enfermeiro, os entrevistados referiram toque terapêutico e acupuntura (15,76%) e massoterapia (11,05%). Os dados apontaram que as TACs são pouco abordados no curso de graduação em enfermagem, que o conhecimento dos acadêmicos é obtido pelo senso comum e que a maioria desconhece o respaldo legal do Conselho Federal de Enfermagem.Palavras-chave: Terapias Alternativas. INTRODUÇÃONos últimos anos vem-se verificando no Brasil um crescente interesse pela utilização de métodos naturais de terapias alternativas complementares (TACs) para o controle de doenças e o restabelecimento do equilíbrio do organismo humano. Estudos sobre procedimentos terapêuticos complementares no contexto de enfermagem são particularmente tímidos.O relatório final da 8 a Conferência Nacional de Saúde, realizada em 1986, trouxe pela primeira vez a proposta de introduzir nos serviços de saúde as práticas alternativas de assistência à saúde, possibilitando ao usuário o direito democrático de escolher a terapêutica preferida (1) . As terapias alternativas vêm merecendo destaque nos últimos anos por parte dos profissionais que atuam nos serviços de saúde, os quais aplicam essas técnicas aos usuários. Neste contexto o enfermeiro exerce papel fundamental, uma vez que está em contato direto com a população, assim tem a oportunidade de orientá-la e esclarecê-la quanto ao uso das práticas naturais.Terapias alternativas complementares são técnicas que visam à assistência à saúde do indivíduo -tanto na prevenção quanto no tratamento e cura -considerando a mente, o corpo e o espírito como um conjunto, e não como partes isoladas (2).Atualmente o termo se caracteriza por uma grande polissemia, designando qualquer forma de cura que não seja propriamente biomédica (3) . Objetivo: analisar as atividades de consultoria e ligação, realizadas pelos profissionais especializados em Saúde Mental, na perspectiva dos profissionais da ESF. Método: estudo exploratório, realizado em cinco núcleos de Saúde da Família, em um município do interior paulista, em 2010. Os dados foram obtidos por meio de entrevistas, os quais foram submetidos à Análise de Conteúdo. Resultados: as atividades de consultoria e ligação mostraram-se como um espaço de aprendizado mútuo entre especialistas de Psiquiatria e Saúde Mental e equipes da ESF. Conclusão: recomenda-se a ampliação do número de atividades que articulem as ações de saúde mental com a ESF, como a consultoria e ligação, a fim favorecer a sensibilidade das equipes para as demandas de saúde mental na ESF e consolidação da integralidade do cuidado.
