This article concerns Rituais e Festas Borôro, a 30-minute film made in a longvanished Bororo indigenous community of some 350 people that was situated on the banks of the São Lourenço river, about 100 kilometers south of Cuiabá, the capital of Mato Grosso State, in Central Brazil [Figure 1]. Shot between July and October 1916, and released the following year, the film is mainly about the funeral of a Bororo woman.
