Balongan Village is one of coastal area in Indramayu which is potential for aquaculture development. Community development through catfish culture activity in this village had been done for 3 years from December 2011-December 2014. This activity aimed to improve the community skill especially catfish culture using plactic pond. Methods used in this activity was training and empowering. The community was trained about plastic pond construction and fish culture technique. The community participated in first year was 21 people, second year was 26 people, and third year was 13 people. Supporting scheme in this program was one pond sized 5 x 5 m2 for one person, including fish larvae (seed) and feed for twice harvesting. There were two principal approaches had been done to empower the catfish culture activity which were technical and participative approach. The success of catfish culture program could be seen from three aspects namely participation, community income, and social modal utilization. Based on the training and empowering results, community had ability to culture and harvest the catfish reared in the plastic pond.
<p>Larva rearing is one of the efforts to increase white shrimp <em>Litopenaeus vannamei</em> seed quality. This study was conducted to determine effect of rearing density on the quality and productivity of white shrimp larvae in cage system. The tested rearing densities were 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 ind/m2 and cultured for 28 days. The result showed that rearing density did not affect survival rate and coefficient of variation of shrimp length. The treatmentonly affected the shrimp larvae growthwhere 500 ind/m2 rearing density gave the best growth.</p> <p>Keywords: white shrimp, larva, rearing density, net cage</p> <p> </p> <p>ABSTRAK</p> <p>Penokolan merupakan salah satu usaha untuk meningkatkan kualitas benih udang vaname (<em>Litopenaeus vannamei</em>). Kepadatan 500 ekor/m2 menghasilkan pertumbuhan terbaik.</p> <p>Kata kunci: vaname, larva, kepadatan, hapa</p>
The water level in the cultivation of eel (Anguilla bicolor bicolor) is an important study in order to provide the optimal water level for cultivation. Optimizing the water level will affect the substitution of respiration energy with energy to grow. In addition, the water level information is related to the efficiency of water use for eel production in the future. Information on water level for eel production is still very limited, so this research is necessary to do. A total of 120 eel elver (initial weight 13.66 ± 0.09 g) were collected from eel companies in Bogor City, Indonesia. Fish were reared in vertical aquaculture systems with a stocking density of 10 fish per container for 60 days. The artificial feed containing 55% protein given as much as 3–5% of the biomass. Absorption and water replacement were done 20% per day. The result of this research showed that fish weight increased with an average of 33.45 ± 0.33 g. Different water levels had an impact to KKb, SGOT, ALP, and He. There was erosion of the skin epidermis and necrosis of the gill filaments due to the adaptation process. Water quality was within the optimum range for all treatments and 1.5 cm water level is recommended for maintenance (SGOT, ALP and He values were closest to normal values).
Melalui pendampingan yang efektif masyarakat merasakan adanya penambahan pengetahuan, teknologi, panen, dan pendapatan (912 juta dari panen bandeng; 920 juta dari panen udang).Kata kunci: desa karangsong, Indramayu, pemberdayaan masyarakat, polikultur ABSTRACTKarangsong Village is one of the coastal villages in Indramayu which has a high fishery and marine resources potential, (both capture and aquaculture fisheries).
