The impact of digital technology has altered consumers’ choices for decades, which has fostered large amounts of eCommerce, including in the home furnishing business. Furthermore, due to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, consumer behaviours have changed, with consumer satisfaction influencing purchasing initiatives and decision-making online. There is insufficient research on online purchasing behaviours in the home furnishing sector in the context of Singapore. The advent of digitisation and the emergence of marketing through digital platforms compared to offline marketing have changed purchasing behaviours regarding home furnishing in Singapore. Research designs and methods, including realism philosophies, deductive approaches, a quantitative research method, a cross-sectional analysis in a descriptive research design and a questionnaire research instrument, were applied to the current study. The findings show a critical trend: consumers prefer an omnichannel approach when purchasing furniture, thereby enhancing competitive costs and personalisation designs and services. Consumers expect advantages both online and offline to maximise the benefits of their purchasing.
Ageing has always directly impacted the healthcare systems and, more specifically, the eldercare costs, as initiatives related to eldercare need to be addressed beyond the regular healthcare costs. This study aims to examine the general issues of eldercare in the Singapore context, as the population of the country is ageing rapidly. The main objective of the study is to examine the eldercare initiatives of the government and their likely impact on the ageing population. The methodology adopted in this study is Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM). Reviews related to the impact of an ageing population on healthcare systems in the context of eldercare initiatives were studied. Analysis methods include correlation and machine learning algorithms, such as Decision Tree, Logistic Regression and Receiver Operating Characteristics curve analysis. Suggestions have been provided for various healthcare and eldercare systems’ initiatives and needs that are required to transform to cope with the ageing population.
The typical purpose of software auditing is to assess the conformant of the developed software with the original plans, procedures, relevant regulations. Every audit involves several people with various roles in the auditing processes. The audit itself entails a number of preferable characteristics. In any audit engagement, the perceptions of the audit quality are directly related to the perceived reputation, credibility and objectivity of the auditor. This paper highlights and critically reviews the research works related to quality in audit, in particular, software license audit from the perspective of internal control and security. The paper examines existing studies in the field with a view to identifying future research opportunities in relation to software license auditing. Moreover, security implications and challenges in the context of software auditing, and a set of recommendations are provided.
COVID-19, a global pandemic, is proving a significant threat to various sectors globally, including the aviation industry. There has been limited research on the Singapore aviation industry, their responses and preparedness and the impact of COVID-19 during and post-pandemic. With such a gap in the literature, this study aims at understanding the impact that the pandemic has specifically on Singapore’s aviation industry both current and in the future while focusing on the existing mitigation measures. A survey questionnaire was used to collect quantifiable data from airport and non-airport workers to analyse various attributes, such as the perception of mitigation and air travel demand. The results concluded that attitudes towards pandemic and mitigation measures significantly led to better expectations of air travel recovery. It is to be noted that beyond domestic and global attitudes, rebound of international travel essentially relies on borders to be opened and multiple countries’ collaboration and coordination.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
