A b s t r a c t . Wave functions for the 3d 4s 4p, 3d2 4p and 4 9 4p configurations of ScI are calculated, taking into account departures from SL-coupling and configuration interaction and on fitting the radial integrals t o the experimental fine structure energies. Using these wave functions yJ-values are derived.The intermediate coupled hfs matrix elements of the 3d 4s 4p configuration are reduced to the unknown electron coupling constants as, ap and ad and calculated on estimating these constants from the spin-orbit coupling constants and fitting them to some experimental A-values.By this way the absolute phases of the experimental A((1P)2D)and A((1P)2P)-ralueu m e obtained.Good agreement between calculated and most experimental data has been achieved.Berechnung der Hyperfeinstruktur und der gj-Werte der 3d 4s 4p-Konfiguration des Scandiums I n h a l t s i i b e r s i c h t . The matrix elements for the hyperfine structure of the configuration Zyl'@T in SLcoupling are expressed as linear combinations of the electron coupling constants uli(lO), uli(Ol), %p). The oscillator strengths of the main transition from the 3d 45 4p-states to the groundstate 3d Asz of Sc I are calculated on using wave functions derived by diagnolization of the interaction matrix elements of the 3d 49 4p-, 3d2 4p-and 4.9 4pconfigurations. The relevant dipole matrix elements are reduced by application of tensor algebra to the unknown one-electron matrix elements <4811r[\+> and <3dl[r[(4p>. These radial integrals are calculated from experimental lifetimes and oscillator strengths as well a8 from theoretical models. The resulting absolute oscillator strengths show a fairly good agreement with the experimental data, the uncertainties being smaller than 10 percent for the strongest transitions. Die resultierenden absoluten Oszillatorenstarken zeigen innerhalb der Unsicherheiten von weniger als lo!/, fur die stiirksten Vbergiinge eine grite Ubereinstininiung mit experimentellen Werten.
