A method for the simultaneous determination of Ni, Co, Cd, Pb, Cu by adsorptive voltammetry was developed using 1-phenylpropane-1-pentylsulfonylhydrazone-2oxime as a selective complexing agent. All five metals gave peaks that were distinctly separated by 120-220 mV, allowing their determination over a wide range of concentrations. The influence of pH, nature of the supporting electrolytes, preconcentration time and applied potential were investigated. The detection limits vary in the range 0.06-1.20 ppb, and the RSD at a concentration level of 7.81 ppb, varies in the range 2.7-5.2%. The method was applied to natural water samples.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
