Brillouin scattering measurements were made to determine the velocities of acoustic phonons and the values of the elastic coefficients of CsNiF3. Temperature dependence of Cll and C33 was investigated between 4 and 300 K. In contradiction with the earlier measurement of Young's modulus along the c axis of the crystal, C33 was found to have a negative thermoelastic coefficient. In connection with these measurements the dispersion
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
