This study was carried out during the two successive seasons of 2012 and 2013 on Manfaloty and Wonderful pomegranate trees at5 and 3-years old respectively, the trees were spaced at 4x4 m. grown in a sandy soil. The highest values of yield and its components i.e., fruit weight, fruit number /tree and yield /tree were recorded when Manfaloty and Wonderful pomegranate trees treated with GA3 at 50 or 100ppm, CaCl2 4 %, kaolin 2.5 or 5 % and bagging treatment. The lowest percentage of fruit creaking and sunburn were obtained with bagging treatment followed by kaolin 5% and spraying by CaCl2 and GA3 treatments compared with the control treatment .All treatments caused a highly significant increase in Marketable fruits %. Bagging treatment gave the highest Marketable fruits percentage compared with the control and other treatments. The highest fruit length and diameter obtained by GA3 50 or 100ppm and CaCl2 2 or 4% treatment. Furthermore,GA3, kaolin and bagging treatments improved SSC, total acidity and SSC/acid ratio ,meanwhile the highest anthocyanin content in juice and peel was obtained by bagging and spraying kaolin 5% treatments in both cultivars. Therefore, these treatments could be recommended for improving Manfaloty and Wonderfull pomegranate cvs performance under similar conditions of this study.
This study was conducted during two successive seasons (2012/2013 first ratoon and 2013/2014 second ratoon) on Williams banana cultivar grown in clay loam soil under flood irrigation system in a private banana orchard located at El-Hagabey district, Meet Ghamr Dakahlia Governorate, at 3x3.5 m apart. Forty five stools/(mat) ,each containing two plants of Williams cultivar were chosen to evaluate the effect of foliar spray with Cobalt , Vit B 12 and ascorbic acid ( Vit C) singly, double or in triple combinations, beside control treatment on yield and fruit quality of the tested Williams banana cv. These treatments were arranged in a randomized complete blocks design with three replicates. The obtained results could be summarized as follows:Sprayed banana plants with the mixture of cobalt sulphate + Vit B 12 + Vit C at 50+50+500 ppm each (T 14 ) recorded increases in bunch weight, yield /fed. and number of fingers /bunch were about 63.34 , 65.49 and 15.22 % over control treatment, respectively. The plants which sprayed with the mixture of cobalt sulphate + Vit C at 100+1000 ppm each (T 11 ) gave the highest values of hand and finger weight and recorded increases about 54.00 and 62.82% over control treatment, respectively .The highest values of total sugars , SSC/TA and Vit.C were obtained by the plants which sprayed with cobalt sulphate + Vit B 12 + Vit C at 100+100+1000 ppm each (T 15 ) average two seasons and recorded the relative increases were about 24.62, 100.56 and 44.34% over control, respectively.
The present investigation was carried out during 3 successive seasons from 2008 to 2010. The work in the first year was considered as a preliminary trial. This investigation was conducted on 14-year-old King Ruby grapevines cultivar growing at a private vineyard called Chycheny located at meniet samanood village near Mansoura city, Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt. The study aimed to evaluate the effect of different sources of compost tea with or without citric acid on vegetative growth, leaf mineral content, physical and chemical characteristics of clusters and berries, yield and pruning wood weight. Most tested treatments gave generally a significant increase of different studied parameters especially in the second season of study, where, T7 (compost tea A + compost tea B + citric acid) gave the highest significant increase in shoot length and total chlorophyll content (112.1-144.6 cm), (1.013-0.957 mg/g F.W.) as compared with that of control (91.2-112.6 cm), (0.923-0.695 mg/g F.W.) in 2009 and 2010 seasons, respectively. In addition, T7 gave a significant increase of NPK content in the leaf petioles (2.94 and 2.72 N %), (0.43 and 0.43 P%) and (2.11 and 2.12 K%) as compared with that of control (2.39 and 2.37 N%), (0.27 and 0.27 P%) and (1.16 and 1.17 K%) in 2009 and 2010 seasons, respectively. Also, this treatment gave a pronounced increase in yield/vine (15.90 and 12.00 kg/vine) as compared with that of control (9.03 and 8.07 kg/vine) in 2009 and 2010 seasons, respectively. Same treatments gave higher increase in the total sugars and total anthocyanin content in berry skin (17.133-17.577 %), (45.85-50.14 mg/100g) as compared with that of control (14.19 and 14.56 %), (23.52 and 23.08 mg/100g) in 2009 and 2010 seasons, respectively. Also, T7 gave the highest values on weight of pruning wood at winter season (2.63 and 2.83 kg/vine) comparing with control (2.17 and 1.78 kg/vine) in 2009 and 2010 seasons, respectively.
