Interaction of poly(N-ethyl-4-vinylpyridinium bromide) (PEVP) with mixed liquid liposomes, composed
of diphosphatidylglycerol (cardiolipin, CL2-) carrying two anionic phosphodiester headgroups and neutral
phosphatidylcholine (PC), was studied. It was shown that integrity of liposomes in complex with PEVP
critically depends on the mole fraction of negatively charged CL2- headgroups in the liposomal membrane
ν = 2[CL2-]/(2[CL2-] + [PC]). Liposome integrity remains unchanged unless ν exceeds 0.3. At higher CL2-
content, PEVP adsorption results in disruption of liposomes and formation of rather strong nonvesicular
PEVP−lipid complexes.
The article presents the results of our own fludarabin-containing FLAG protocol-based treatment of 54 patients with both first detected and resistant forms of acute myeloid leukemia. It has been shown that, the application of the indicated chemiotherapy scheme is highly effective and makes it possible to assure remission in most patients.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
