ABSTRAKEkstrak etanol 70% kulit buah pisang Ambon mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, dan tanin yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis dan konsentrasi gelling agent terhadap karakteristik fisik gel ekstrak etanol 70% kulit buah pisang Ambon. Sediaan gel antiseptik ekstrak etanol kulit buah pisang dibuat dalam 4 formula dengan variasi basis dan konsentrasi basis gel yaitu FI (Na-CMC 5%), FII (Na-CMC 3%), FIII (Tragakan 5%), dan FIV (Tragakan 2,5%) Evaluasi terhadap sediaan dilakukan untuk mengetahui formula optimum yang memenuhi kriteria persyaratan. Evaluasi yang dilakukan meliputi organoleptic, homogenitas, daya sebar, daya lekat, pH dan viskositas. Analisis dilakukan secara statistik menggunakan ANOVA dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% untuk melihat perbedaan antar kelompok formula dan korelasi regresi linier untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis dan konsentrasi gelling agent terhadap karakteristik gel antiseptik ekstrak etanol kulit buah pisang Ambon. Formula optimum diperoleh pada F1 dengan basis gel Na-CMC pada konsentrasi 5% karena memenuhi kriteria syarat gel yang baik.Kata kunci: Kulit pisang Ambon; Antibakteri; Gel antiseptic; Gelling agent; Na-CMC.ABSTRACTEthanol extract of 70% Ambon banana peel contains alkaloids, flavonoids, and tannins, which has antibacterial activity. The aims of this study to determine the effect of type and concentration of gelling agents on the physical characteristics of antiseptic gel formula Ambon banana peel 70% ethanolic extract. The antiseptic gel formula of banana peel 70% ethanolic extract made in 4 formulas with variations in type and concentration gelling agent, namely FI (Na-CMC 5%), FII (Na-CMC 3%), FIII (Tragakan 5%), and FIV (Tragakan 2,5%). Evaluation of the formulas done to find out the best formula that meets the requirements criteria. The evaluations included organoleptic, homogeneity, spreadability, adhesion, pH, and viscosity. The analysis performed statistically using ANOVA with a confidence level of 95% to see differences between groups of formulas and linear regression correlation to determine the effect of type and concentration of gelling agent on the characteristics of the antiseptic gel of Ambon banana peel. Water pumpkin (Lagenaria siceraria) is a vegetable that contains secondary metabolites that are beneficial to health. Its use as a vegetable is less attractive to the people so that to increase its utilization, dosage forms are made that can attract public interest, one of which is effervescent granules. Effervescent granules are the most popular dosage form because they can serve in fresh drinks. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of acids (citric acid-tartaric acid) and base (sodium bicarbonate) on the physical properties of the formula. The water pumpkin effervescent granules made with various ratios of citric acid, tartaric acid, and sodium bicarbonate consisting of FI (2: 1: 2.5); F II (1: 2: 2,5); F III (2: 1: 3,52); F IV (1: 2: 3,44). The granule made by the wet granulation method. The physical properties of the formula included organoleptic, moisture content, flow properties, compressibility index, pH, solubility time, and acceptability test. Based on the results of the evaluation of physical properties, the granule formula of the water pumpkin effervescent meets the standard requirements with a moisture content of 1.26% -2.26%, flow properties from 6.33 to 7.0 seconds, angle of repose 31.14˚-33.69 ˚, compressibility index 13.61% -17.08%, pH 6.1-7.1 and dissolving time 191-223.33 seconds. Variations of citric acid-tartaric acid and sodium bicarbonate affect the physical properties and taste of the effervescent granules. Based on the acceptability test showed that the panelists liked the water pumpkin effervescent granules in FII.
<span>Jerawat umumnya disebabkan oleh <em>Propionibacterium</em> <em>acnes</em> yang dapat dihambat pertumbuhannya oleh<em> </em>air perasan<em> </em>jeruk nipis (<em>Citrus aurantifolia </em>(Cristm.) Swingle). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan formulasi dan pengujian stabilitas gel antijerawat serbuk perasan jeruk nipis yang di <em>freeze dried </em>menggunakan variasi konsentrasi Carbopol 940 sebagai <em>gelling agent</em>. Tiga formula<em> </em>dengan variasi konsentrasi Carbopol 940 4, 6, dan 8% diaplikasikan dalam pengujian stabilitas gel serbuk perasan jeruk nipis yang diperoleh secara liofilisasi. Pengujian stabilitas dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah <em>freeze thaw </em>terhadap sediaan yang meliputi organoleptis, homogenitas, viskositas, daya sebar, daya lekat, dan pH. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif terhadap pengujian organoleptis dan homogenitas, sedangkan viskositas, daya sebar, daya lekat dan pH dianalisis secara statistik (taraf kepercayaan 95%). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perubahan sebelum dan sesudah <em>freeze thaw</em> pada pengujian homogenitas dan organoleptis. Daya sebar, daya lekat, dan viskositas gel seruk perasan jeruk nipis tidak mengalami perubahan yang bermakna untuk tiga formula sehingga dapat dinyatakan sediaan gel stabil sebelum dan sesudah <em>freeze thaw</em>. Namun, terdapat pengaruh yang bermakna terhadap penurunan pH setelah pengujian <em>freeze thaw</em>. Formula 3 (Carbopol 940 8%) memiliki kestabilan yang baik pada pengujian sebelum dan sesudah <em>freeze thaw</em>. </span>
Acne is a pile of oil glands in the skin that are actively being clogged by dirt and infection because of Propionibacterium acnes, Staphylococcus aureus, and Staphylococcus epidermidis. The treatment for acne can use herbal ingredients, one of which is Soursop (Annona muricata L.) leaves ethanolic extract. Annona muricata folium ethanolic extract is known to have alkaloid, flavonoid and polyphenol compounds which can inhibit the growth of P. acnes, S. epidermidis, and S. aureus. Suitable dosage forms for anti-acne preparations are gels because the gel contains much water so that it provides a cooling effect on the skin due to inflammation. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of carbopol 940 and Propylene glycol on the physical characteristics of the gel preparation and determine the optimum formula of the gel preparation using factorial design software 22 so that the gel preparation was made in four formulas. The data obtained were then analyzed using Design-Expert� and ANOVA software with a confidence level of 95%, and the determination of the optimum formula based on the optimum superimposed contour plot area. The results of the study using a factorial design approach are known that Propylene glycol has an effect on increasing the spreadability and pH while carbopol 940 has a more significant impact on the increase in adhesion and viscosity, and the optimum area of ??the composition of carbopol 940 1.536% and propylene glycol 5% was obtained.
Jeruju (Hydrolea spinosa L.) merupakan tumbuhan endemic lahan basah Kalimantan Selatan yang dipercaya masyarakat setempat sebagai tumbuhan berkhasiat obat yang digunakan sebagai penurun demam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi senyawa kimia yang terkandung pada ekstrak daun jeruju. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%, kemudian dilakukan skrining fitokimia dan uji penegasan dengan menggunakan kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT) menggunakan fase gerak kloroform : etanol : aquades (20:1:0,5; 25:1:0,5; 27:1:0,5; 15:2:1; 8:2:1 dan 6:2:1) dan n-heksan : etil asetat dengan perbandingan 8:2; 7:3 dan 6:4, penampakan noda dilakukan pada UV 254 nm, 366 nm dan dengan peyemprotan H2SO4 10%. Analisa KLT ekstrak daun Jeruju menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun jeruju mengandung tanin, alkaloid, flavonoid, steroid dan saponin.
