Selorejo Village, Blitar Regency is a village where some of the residents produce Opak Gambir snacks which are still managed using traditional methods. This causes the management in the production to be less professional and less organized. This program aims to improve education and training, especially in the fields of entrepreneurship, finance, and marketing, so that the management of this home industry will be more organized and professional. The method of implementing the program is by providing education, training, and coaching for producers. The results of the program show that the producer is very well educated about the principles of entrepreneurship. Opak Gambir producers are also able to make financial plans both for administration and also the selling price of their products. The producer is also able to determine marketing plans, which include starting from the process of determining prices, determining distribution locations, and how the promotion process is carried out. Through this community service, it is hoped that the producer will be able to manage their business in a professional manner, apart from being a source of income, is also a destination for the Opak Gambir industry.
The beginning of this major change was the existence of a very large gap between the output of university graduates and the need for experts in the business and industrial world so that various forms of MBKM activities were projected to provide real contextual experiences that could increase competence, prepare well to enter the world of work and industry, and create new jobs. One of the MBKM programs with the greatest possibility according to competency linearity is the Certified Independent Study and Internship Program (MSIB), where students go directly to the world of work and learn according to their competencies based on experience in the field or project-based learning. The methodology of this research is descriptive qualitative, with the entire population of the University of Merdeka Malang academic community, MSIB participants, and stakeholders in the MSIB Program. Data were obtained through questionnaires, interviews, and Forum Group Discussion. Some of the measurable results include the impact of the implementation of the MSIB program having a good perception at Merdeka University Malang, students have high motivation and interest in implementing the MSIB program, the MSIB program has a direct influence as evidenced by the assessments given by lecturers and students' perspectives on themselves. The results obtained from the implementation of the MSIB Program provide real contextual experiences that can increase competence, prepare well to enter the world of work and industry, as well as the ability create new jobs.
Until now, the garbage is still a serious problem in the surrounding environment, both in the wider environment and the household community. Public awareness is considered very necessary in waste management efforts, not least for mothers of Posyandu Kasih Ibu members. Is waste derived from sachet beverage plastic waste which is currently very popular. The efforts to recycle waste into a product are expected not only to contribute to reducing waste but also to become a home product with high economic value. Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) is used as an approach method to invite the community to actively participate in the development of an activity. In this activity, the community that is the target of this program is the mothers of the cadre of Posyandu Kasih Ibu members, they are equipped with knowledge first about the importance of participation in waste management and then provide training in making handcrafts from the remaining waste of sachet drink packs. Based on the results of these activities, the members of the Kasih Ibu Posyandu cadre have been able to produce several handcraft motifs derived from sachet beverage wrapper waste.
