Pusat komersil yang terkenal di Kota Bandung antara lain Bandung Electronic City (BEC), Bandung Indah Plaza (BIP), Paris Van Java, Riau Junction, Cihampelas Walk dan lain-lain. Jika melihat guna lahan Kota Bandung, sarana komersil ada yang terpusat, adapula yang membujur membentuk suatu cluster komersil. Oleh karenanya, pertumbuhan sarana komersil di Kota Bandung sangat memengaruhi pola pergerakan di kota ini, juga sangat berkontribusi dalam menciptakan kondisi bertransportasi di Kota Bandung. Titik-titik sarana komersil ini menciptakan tarikan yang besar dan bisa meningkat secara drastis pada waktu-waktu puncak seperti saat akhir pekan dan hari libur. Pada observasi lapangan terlihat, bahwa jumlah permintaan pergerakan orang menuju pusat-pusat komersil tersebut seringkali tidak memenuhi kapasitas yang ada. Baik kapasitas jalan, begitupula kapasitas parkir sarana yang bersangkutan. Jebolnya kapasitas jalan menimbulkan kemacetan yang berkepanjangan, dan bertumbuhnya lahan parkir illegal turut ambil peran dalam terjadinya kemacetan di sekitar sarana komersil. Fenomena ini perlu digali agar ditemukan kiranya apa yang menyebabkan hingga terjadi persoalan transportasi yang disebabkan oleh keberadaan sarana komersil. Untuk mendapatkan rona awal mengenai pengaruh keberadaan sarana komersil terhadap permasalahan transportasi di sekitarnya, diambil studi kasus yaitu Shopping Street di jalan Cihampelas.
Pemanfaatan sumberdaya alam secara optimal menjadi indikator keberhasilan pengembangan ekonomi salah satunya melalui komoditas subsektor perkebunan. Kecamatan Penajammemiliki potensi terbesar pada sektor pertanian khususnya subsektor perkebunan sebagai arahan pemanfaatan lahan perkebunan seluas 39,707 ha dibandingkan kecamatan lainnya. Dengan potensi lahan yang besar membuat Kecamatan Penajam memiliki peluang untuk meningkatkan pengembangan ekonomi melalui pemanfaatan komoditas subsektor perkebunan. Disisi lain potensi fungsi lahan perkebunan yang tinggi, terdapat pemanfaatan yang belum optimal pada subsektor perkebunan. Sehingga diperlukan upaya pengembangan ekonomi sebagai identifikasi pengembangan wilayah berbasis ekonomi yang dapat dilakukan dengan penentuan komoditas unggulan subsektor perkebunan di Kecamatan Penajam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahuikomoditas unggulan subsektor perkebunan sebagai upaya pengembangan ekonomi di Kecamatan Penajam, Kabupaten Penajam Paser Utara dengan menggunakan metode analisis kuantitatif terhadap data sekunder yaitu hasil produksi komoditas perkebunan tahun 2014 – 2019. Adapuntahapan analisis terdiri dari: 1) Menentukan komoditas basis/non basis subsektor perkebunan menggunakan teknik analisa Location Quotioent (LQ), 2) Menentukan nilai pertumbuhan dan daya saing menggunakan teknik Shift Share Analysis (SSA), 3) Menentukan komoditas unggulan dengan teknik analisa komulatif hasil LQ dan SSA. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa komoditas unggulan subsektor di Kecamatan Penajam yaitu komoditas kelapa dan komoditas kelapa sawit.

In the middle of this transformation process, Balikpapan is also committed to realizing Balikpapan, a Smart City, where one of the components is Smart Branding. Economic transformation has an impact on environmental changes. The level of the environmental safety is inversely proportional to the branding of Balikpapan. The criteria for occupancy eligibility are a sense of security and comfort. Comfort in urban areas can be realized by creating comfortable spaces to live in. Before making significant efforts to develop technology for recognition of the Balikpapan smart city, it is necessary to study the characteristics of the level of residential environmental security based on one of the smart branding components. The level of the Settlement Index is analyzed using descriptive statistics with distribution pattern maps and hexagonal diagrams. The results of the analysis show variable people (55.67) and pre-requisites (49.68) show the most significant influence on the branding of Balikpapan City. Also, it is supported by economic facilities and the development of the creative industry.
Corridor of the commercial area of Jalan MT. Haryono Balikpapan City specifically from the MT. Haryono Bridge to the Traffic Light Beruang Madu Monument has the characteristics of high mobility by motorized vehicles. Under these conditions, efforts are needed to encourage non-motorized movements. One of the efforts that have been made in the provision of pedestrian paths in the trade and service area. However, the lane has several problems, such as damaged sidewalks, motorized vehicles that often park around the sidewalks, and there are no guiding blocks for disabled users. Therefore, this study aims to plan a pedestrian path in the commercial area in the corridor of Jalan MT. Haryono uses the concept of walkability. This research uses walkability suitability analysis, community satisfaction level analysis, and Photo Mapping analysis. The results of the suitability analysis showed that segment 1 of the research area was not following the walkability and it was necessary to improve the pedestrian path infrastructure and add supporting facilities such as chairs, trash cans, CCTV, and shade plants, to guide blocks. While in segment 2, almost all of the variables are appropriate and require maintenance of several pedestrian path facilities. In the analysis of the level of community satisfaction using the Multicriteria Satisfaction Analysis, the planning priorities of the 4 walkability indicators are obtained. The results of this analysis show that segment 1 requires planning for the development of safety and comfort indicators, while segment 2 requires planning related to the development of safety and beauty indicators. The results of Photo Mapping show that it is necessary to add road barrier facilities, guiding blocks, parking ban signs, resting chairs, green lanes, repairing pedestrian lane infrastructure, and improving zebra crossing in segment 1. Segment 2 requires additional parking ban markers, speed bumps, chairs, trash cans, green paths, and care for weeds growing along the walkways
