The low involvement of students in online learning resulted in a decrease in their academic performance. This research aims to figure out the effect of adopting online learning innovations such as mobile learning (m-learning) on students’ involvement with digital readiness as a mediator. A total of 89 graduate students from all over Indonesia enrolled at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta participated in the study. To determine the sample, we used purposive sampling. Analysis techniques to test research models used partial least square structural equation model (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3.3.2 software. The results are significant for digital readiness as a mediator in student perception of the influence of the adoption of m-learning innovation on student engagement. Although students positively perceive that the adoption of m-learning has a positive effect, they must also have strong digital skills to complete their academic work. Besides, they must also be committed to fully engaged in learning activities using m-learning— this finding provides practical implications for improving effective and interactive online learning in college.
The use and acceptance of digital technology, especially electronic learning in education, is essential for increasing student’s satisfaction. Electronic learning is a process to use digital technology in education. This study's objectives are figuring out the adoption of electronic learning systems using the UTAUT model with student satisfaction as the mediation. We used AMOS 24 to interpret quantitative data. This study conducted cluster sampling with a total number of respondents as many as 197 students from seven state universities in Indonesia, namely Universitas Negeri Padang, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Universitas Diponegoro, and Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Universitas Gadjah Mada, and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. The findings indicated that all acceptance factors in electronic learning, such as PER, EFF, SOC, and FAC, influence electronic knowledge acceptance, referring to student satisfaction. This research contributes to the use of electronic learning in college.
Social mobility impacts indigenous people's employment, education, and danger of exclusion. Hence, this study investigate the impact of health, education, work possibilities, social capital, cultural capital, technological access, social security, and area-based factors on indigenous people's social mobility, which previous research has not explored. For data collection, face-to-face interviews are conducted using Google Meet due to COVID-19 Pandemic. The target groups of the study are Orang Asli from Sungai Raya Village. Findings show the importance of social mobility and how the Malaysian government initiative to help the Orang Asli is visible.
Oil palm trunk has a high moisture content about 60%-300% depended on the height and age of the tree and it was presumed to have low quality and prone to decay by organisms. It is necessary to improve the trunk quality using preservatives. The purpose of this study is to calculate the value of the penetration and retention, to test the durability of oil palm trunk from the attack of termites after treated with a mixed preservative of borax and boric acid. This study used the free of defects trunk obtained from PT. Buana Karya Bhakti in Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, planted in 1998 (±18 years old). The research used two factors: A (the preservative concentration variations) = a1 (5%); a2 (10%); a3 (15%); and B (soaking time variation) = b1 (1 day); b2 (3 days); b3 (5 days). The results showed that the trunk water content was 14.62%, the density was 0.25 g/cm3, the radial shrinkage was 1.48% and the tangential shrinkage was 2.17%. The average of boron penetration was 50 mm. The highest retention was got from the treatment of boron concentration 15% in 2 days for 54.71 kg/m3, while the lowest retention was from 5% boron in 1-day treatment for 13.7 kg/m3. The weight loss ranged from 19.30%-41.32%, and the average of termites attack degree ranged between 40% and 70% (categorized as moderate), while the control was decayed completely by termites in both experiments. The mortality rate in all treatments was 100%, while the control ranged from 7%-10.5%.Keywords: oil palm trunk, preservation, boron, termites
