Surgery is the treatment of choice for most patients with pulmonary hydatid disease. The aim of surgery is evacuation of the cyst, removal of the endocyst, and management of the residual cavity. Conservative surgical methods that preserve lung parenchyma should be preferred.
The study aimed to determine the effect of different irrigation activation systems on the amount of apical debris extrusion in mandibular molar teeth with curved root canals. Sixty extracted mandibular molar teeth were instrumented with HyFlex EDM system and divided into four groups according to irrigation techniques: passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI), EDDY, photon‐initiated photoacoustic streaming (PIPS) and manual irrigation (MI). After the final irrigation, the extruded irrigants were collected into Eppendorf tubes of known weights. The amount of extruded debris was obtained by subtracting the weight from the initial weight of the tube. The Kruskal–Wallis test was used for statistical analysis. EDDY caused significantly more debris extrusion than the other irrigation activation systems (P < 0.001). PUI caused less apical debris extrusion but there was no statistical difference between PUI, PIPS and MI (P > 0.05). The EDDY activation system was associated with the highest amount of debris extrusion in curved root canals.

The aim of this

study was to evaluate the push-out bond strength of a novel calcium silicate-based root repair material-BIOfactor MTA to root canal dentin in comparison with white MTA-Angelus (Angelus) and Biodentine (Septodont).
Materials and Methods
The coronal parts of 12 central incisors were removed and the roots were embedded in acrylic resin blocks. Midroot dentin of each sample was horizontally sectioned into 1.1 mm slices and 3 slices were obtained from each root. Three canal-like standardized holes having 1 mm in diameter were created parallel to the root canal on each dentin slice with a diamond bur. The holes were filled with MTA-Angelus, Biodentine, or BIOfactor MTA. Wet gauze was placed over the specimens and samples were stored in an incubator at 37°C for 7 days to allow complete setting. Then samples were subjected to the push-out test method using a universal test machine with the loading speed of 1 mm/min. Data was statistically analyzed using Friedman test and

Wilcoxon signed rank test with Bonferroni correction.
Results
There were no significant differences among the push-out bond strength values of MTA-Angelus, Biodentine, and BIOfactor MTA (
p
> 0.017). Most of the specimens exhibited cohesive failure in all groups, with the highest rate found in Biodentine group.
Conclusions
Based on the results of this study, MTA-Angelus, Biodentine, and BIOfactor MTA showed similar resistances to the push-out testing.
Inflammatory pseudotumors are rare neoplastic lesions of the lung with unknown etiology. 1,2 They histologically contain inflammatory and mesenchymal cells and are often confused with carcinomas. Objective: The aim of the study was to assessment of technical quality of 9562 endodontic cases treated by heterogeneous groups with different clinical experience. Material and methods: This retrospective study reviewed the dental records of 8590 patients (9562 endodontic cases and 13203 root canals including 3340 retreatment root canals) treated by fourth-year undergraduates, fifth-year undergraduates, endodontic program students, and endodontic specialists between December 2017 and December 2018 at the Department of Endodontics of Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Dentistry in Konya. The length, density, and taper of root fillings, the acceptable technical quality of the root filling criteria, and the presence of procedural errors, were recorded. Chi-square tests with a significance level at p=0.05 were used for statistical analysis. Results: Acceptable root fillings were found in 71.5% of endodontic cases. Clinical experience showed statistical differences in the root filling quality among fourth-year undergraduates, fifth-year undergraduates, endodontic program students, and specialists (52, 63.1, 77.9 and 86.5% respectively). Fractured instruments and missed canals were noted in 9.8% and 0.57% of cases treated by endodontic program students significantly more than the other clinical experiences. No statistical differences were found among the clinical experiences in other procedural errors. No statistically significant differences were found between age range and gender in additional root canals. Statistically significant differences were observed between the number of root canal retreatments in terms of age range and gender. Conclusions: Clinical experience affects the technical quality of root canal treatments. Fractured instruments and missed canals, especially by endodontic program students, should be given more attention.

Revo-S ve Lightspeed-LSX döner sistem eğelerinin aşırı eğimli kök kanallarındaki etkinliğinin araştırılması Amaç: Aşırı eğimli kök kanallarında iki farklı döner sistem eğeleri ile kök kanalı şekillendirme etkinliğini karşılaştırmak. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Otuz adet aşırı eğimli (38.96°±12.89°) mandibular birinci molar dişler çalışmaya dâhil edildi. Eşit olarak iki gruba ayrılan dişlerin çalışma boyu ve kanal devamlılığı tespit edildi. Düşük hızlı testere yardımı ile dişlerin apikal, orta ve koronal seviyelerinden kesitler alındı. Şekillendirme sırasında mufla sisteminden faydalanıldı. Kesitlerden dijital görüntüler şekillendirme öncesi ve sonrasında stereo mikroskop (x40) ile alındı. Mufla sistemine sırasıyla yerleştirilmiş olan kesitlerde Revo-S ve Lightspeed-LSX eğeleri ile apikal genişlik 40 olacak şekilde genişletildi. Merkezde kalma oranı, şekillendirilmiş alan, şekillendirilmemiş alan ve transportasyon dijital görüntülerin öncesi ve sonrasında üst üste monte edilerek ölçüldü. Bağımsız t testi, One-way ANOVA ve post-hoc Tukey testi uygulanmıştır (P<0.05). Bulgular: Lightspeed-LSX ile şekillendirilme sonrası, apikalde merkezde kalma oranı Revo-S'e göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede daha azdır (P<0.05). Ayrıca apikalde Revo-S (0.26 mm 2) Lightspeed-LSX (0.15 mm 2)'e göre dentin alanı kaldırması daha fazla olmuştur (P<0.05). Şekillendirilmemiş alan Revo-S için tüm bölgelerde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede daha fazladır (P<0.05).
