Objective: About 80% of all psychiatric disorder diagnosed in the world population involved comorbid disorders and the most frequent are anxiety and mood disorders, and substance abuse. The aim of this study was to investigate the pattern of comorbidity among major depression patients.Methods: The levels of anxiety, presence of chronic somatic illness or substance abuse, suicidal behaviour, cognitive impairment were evaluated among 50 patients with major depression. The levels of anxiety were evaluated using STAI, levels of depression with HAMD, cognitive impairment using Benton neurocognitive test.
