Muitos planos estratégicos visam o crescimento na internacionalização (DE WIT et al., 2015) e mobilidade a partir da compreensão de que tais ações demandam proficiência no idioma para comunicação, intercâmbio de pesquisas, parcerias básicas e desenvolvimentos digitais. Embora universidades mantenham acordos internacionais, é fundamental que compreendam como as línguas estrangeiras são vitais para envolver estudantes e acadêmicos de forma orgânica. Objetivamos apresentar as ações com vistas à internacionalização que têm sido implementadas como forma de mapear e melhorar a proficiência linguística na Universidade Estadual Paulista, instituição multicampi. Dentre tais ações, enfocaremos o mapeamento do nível de proficiência linguística dos alunos e comunidade interna, oferta de cursos e testes e ações de mobilidade internacional na própria instituição como as sessões de intercâmbio virtual em língua estrangeira ou língua franca. Os resultados apontam para uma crescente conscientização acerca da importância da proficiência linguística e ações que priorizam a globalização do Ensino Superior.
A telecolaboração tem permitido acesso aos povos e línguas, transpondo barreiras geográficas e propiciando experiências significativas com vistas à construção de conhecimento, desenvolvimento de autonomia e competência intercultural. O teletandem, contexto que prevê a realização de sessões bilíngues de comunicação entre aprendizes de diferentes línguas por meio de aplicativos como o Skype e Zoom, tem possibilitado práticas pedagógicas significativas. Em um momento posterior à interação, um professor/pesquisador/mediador conduz as sessões de mediação junto ao grupo de participantes para promover um compartilhamento de experiências e fomentar a reflexão. O presente trabalho, sob uma metodologia qualitativa, enfoca dados de sessões de mediação com estudantes brasileiros referentes a interações conduzidas em 2016. Assim, pautados no suporte teórico da telecolaboração, tandem e teletandem, destacamos ocorrências da não separação de línguas nas interações, retratada pelos interagentes nas sessões de mediação, para compreender e buscar reforço de procedimentos e alinhamento aos interagentes. Os resultados evidenciam um desequilíbrio estabelecido pela mistura de línguas, que pode prejudicar as ações entre os pares, gerando desconfortos e interferindo, inclusive, nos demais princípios: reciprocidade e autonomia. Evidenciam, também, a importância das sessões de mediação como espaço de alinhamento e papel do mediador no suporte e potencialização da experiência entre os pares.
