A research study was conducted to investigate revegetation of tin-mined land using mixed native tree species on Bangka Island, Indonesia. Natural plant succession on these sites is very slow. Consequently, the objective of this study was to evaluate ten native tree species for their suitability, and develop protocols for the rapid restoration of sand tin tailings. An experiment evaluated three levels of planting distance (4 x 4 m, 2 x 2 m, 1 x 1 m), five levels of soil treatment (control, plus slimes tailings powder, legume cover crops (LCC), LCC and humic acid, and LCC and topsoil) with each treatment replicated three times. A total of 3345 seedlings were planted in 45 plots, each 12 x 12 m. Four species i.e. Hibiscus tiliaceus L. (Malvaceae), Ficus superba Miq. (Moraceae), Calophyllum inophyllum L. (Clusiaceae), and Syzygium grande (Wight) Walp. Myrtaceae showed highest survival rates (90.2-100%) and canopy (0.13-0.42 m 2 ) at twelve months after planting. These four species are believed to possess better anatomical, morphological, and physiological adaptations than the other six species. H. tiliaceus, F. superba, C. inophyllum, and S. grande appear to be the most promising species to use for revegetating tin-mined lands.
Forty percent of the total oil palm plantation area in Indonesia belong to the smallholder palm oil plantations. The productivity of smallholder oil palm plantations is still relatively low, only around 2-3 tons of CPO/ha/year under PBN dan PBS. The aim of this study is to identify internal dan external constraints that cause low productivity of smallholder oil palm dan the recommended solutions. This research was taken in Sanggau dan Sintang Regencies which are the largest areas of smallholder palm oil plantation in West Borneo. Data obtained were analyzed by SWOT. The results showed that there were four main strategies to increase productivity dan solve problems on oil palm plantation in Sanggau dan Sintang Regencies, namely, 1) intensifying technical training of oil palm cultivation to increase the farmers’ knowledge dan capabilities, 2) increasing the role dan ability of farmer institutions both farmer groups dan ‘koperasi’ in establishing cooperation with stakeholders dan in marketing fresh fruit bunch (FFB), 3) escalating the awareness dan understanding of farmers in using digital information technology to support their business activities on oil palm, dan 4) strengthening the government protection against middlemen.

This study aims to determine and analyze whether product differentiation strategies, service differentiation, image differentiation have a simultaneous and partial effect on competitive advantage and identify the key success factor (KSF) of Cahaya Bumi Slamet Martapura Shops its influence on competitive advantage at Permata Central Delima Martapura Stores. This type of research is causality research with a sampling technique that is accidental sampling. Primary data was collected using a questionnaire instrument while secondary data was obtained by collecting various data about the company and the level of competition. Secondary data and primary data were analyzed descriptively by using Porter's Five Forces of Competition analysis and using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study prove that the product differentiation strategy, service differentiation and image differentiation simultaneously have a significant effect on competitive advantage. Partially, product differentiation strategy and service differentiation have no significant effect. While the image differentiation strategy has a significant effect on competitive advantage. Service differentiation strategy does not have a dominant effect on competitive advantage. The results of the industry and competition analysis identify the Key success factors (KSF) that create a competitive advantage at the Cahaya Bumi Selamat (CBS) Martapura shops consisting of; economies of scale, capital, services and control of access to raw materials.
