The interest of the scientific community and, consequently, the scientific production of topics on happiness and well-being at work, or the management of happiness in organizations, has been increasing over the years. The main objective of this bibliometric analysis is to determine the evolution of the concepts referred to in published scientific works. Bibliometric methods and techniques are used to analyze the themes and the most relevant trends, the number of papers and their citations, and the main institutions, and to highlight areas where the most research has been done on these issues. In addition to the review of the scientific literature, 312 studies are analyzed and net-mapped. The most outstanding results are the increase in the number of papers and citations during the health pandemic caused by COVID-19; the importance given to the transversality of well-being programs in corporations; and the greater frequency of research on the benefits of promoting the improvement of quality of life for work performance and its social impact.
Currently, the online interaction between citizens and hospitals is poor, as users believe that there are shortcomings that could be improved. This study analyzes patients' opinions of the online communication strategies of hospitals in Spain. Therefore, a mixed-method is proposed. Firstly, a qualitative analysis through a focus-group was carried out, so around twenty representatives of national, regional and local patients' associations were brought together. Secondly, the research is supplemented with a content assessment of the Twitter activity of the most influential hospitals in Spain. The results reveal that the general public appreciate hospitals' communication potential through social media, although they are generally unaware of how it works. The group says that, apart from the lack of interaction, they find it hard to understand certain messages, and some publications give a biased picture. In order to improve communication, patients and relatives are demanding that their perspective be taken into consideration in the messages issued to enhance the quality of life and well-being of society. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause a collapse in the health systems and econo-mies of many countries around the world, after 2 years of struggle and with the number of cases still growing exponentially. Health communication has become as essential and necessary for control of the pandemic as epidemiology. This bibliometric analysis identifies existing contributions, jointly studying health communication and the pandemic in scientific journals indexed. A systematic search of the Web of Science was performed, using keywords related to COVID-19 and health communication. Data extracted included the type of study, journal, number of citations, number of authors, country of publication, and study content. As the number of scientific investigations has grown, it is necessary to delve into the areas in which the most impactful publications have been generated. The results show that the scientific community has been quick to react by generating an extraordinary volume of publications. This review provides a comprehensive mapping of contributions to date, showing how research approaches have evolved in parallel with the pandemic. In 2020, concepts related to mental health, mass communication, misinformation and communication risk were more used. In 2021, vaccination, infodemic, risk perception, social distancing and telemedicine were the most prevalent keywords. By highlighting the main topics, authors, manuscripts and journals since the origin of COVID-19, the authors hope to disseminate information that can help researchers to identify subsisting knowledge gaps and a number of future research opportunities.
Introduction. The object of study for this article is online communication in Spanish hospital corporations, specifically in those centres that are more influential on Twitter. Hypothesis and objectives. We will be working with the hypothesis that hospitals demonstrate a low level of participation in social media, despite the interest shown by users. The main objective is to define the characteristics and the strategy in order to propose ideas to optimise the relationship between hospitals and citizens, by means of social networks. Methodology. The methodology followed is based, fundamentally, on a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the activity on Twitter of the specialised health centres with a greater interaction. Results. Patients demonstrated an interest in the information and the activity that health centres share on their social networks, and these messages can be classified as: non-health related, or related to matters extrinsic to healthcare that also arouse considerable interest, followed by messages about prevention and health promotion, and recognition of the people that play an important role in certain hospital proceedings. Along these lines, we can state that, in general, an intimate tone is adopted. Conclusions. This study serves as a base from which to propose several strategies aimed at improving communication between the hospital and its various stakeholders and, therefore, situations that surround the users of healthcare systems; situations that are focussed on the relationship between medical attention and citizen wellbeing. KeywordsHealthcare Communication; social networks; hospitals; health. Introduction and theoretical frameworkResearch activity in the field of health is becoming more and more intense and diverse. "Information about health in contemporary society is included in social policies and (...) can provide important benefits to the wellbeing of a society" (Peñafiel & Echegaray, 2014, p. 6).Similarly, there is a varied body of literature about institutional social networks in different professional fields (Gómez & Paniagua, 2014;Huertas & Mariné, 2014;Palomo, 2014; Campos Freire, Rivera Rogel & Rodríguez Hidalgo, 2014;Campos Freire & Ruas Araujo, 2016).Nonetheless, when it comes to healthcare institutions, in particular hospitals, the object of study for this article, and their communicative activity via social networks, scientific publications are far from copious.A study by Rando (2014) of hospitals in Andalusia, both publicly and privately funded, emphasises a lack of coherence between the objectives approved by hospital directors once the transmission of messages via social networks to the various stakeholders had been decided on and started, and the results obtained with this communicative activity. There is clearly a gap between a hospital"s reasons for participating in a social network (Rando, 2014): to invite dialogue, interaction or participation by society in the virtual space; to learn about citizens" healthcare needs; to put itself on the map and strengt...
In the last decade, there have been an increasing number of studies on female entrepreneurship and its relationship with communication activity. However, as a worldwide current issue, there are no records in the scientific literature in which a bibliometric analysis has been performed in this field. This article aims to fill this gap by reviewing the present situation of research production and analyzing its evolution and trends. To this end, a systematic review of the existing literature is carried out, as well as the bibliometric analysis of the 1356 records found in the Scopus database and the analysis of bibliometric networks referring to authorship, citation, keywords and main affiliations of researchers with VOSviewer software. Among the results, it is worth noting the close correlation between advances in communication strategies on behalf of women entrepreneurs, mainly related to the digitization of processes and the reduction of gender disparities. Thus, there is a need to raise awareness of the importance of communication in business management and to promote training activities that encourage greater interaction between women entrepreneurs and their stakeholders.
PurposeOrganizational happiness has received exponential attention in recent years. To offer an over-view for future research gap, this article produces a comprehensive review by combining bibliometric analysis and interviews to key authors in the field. The main objective of this paper is to show the state of research regarding the environment in the management of happiness in organizations: the evolution of scientific activity, current trends in authorship, topics and future setting research agenda.Design/methodology/approachThe methodological process focuses on a mixed method. A systematic review of the relevant literature; bibliometric analysis and network mapping in the Web of Science and Scopus data-bases; bibliometric network analysis of authorship, citation and co-occurrence of key words in scientific publications.FindingsThe results reveal that happiness management is gaining importance and, moreover, more than half of the publications about happiness management are related to the environment in which the organizations are immersed. Therefore, the study provides some research directions and insists on role of environment to better understand the theoretical and practical perspectives. Likewise, bibliometric analysis and interviews allow to measure quality, impact, productivity and scientific evolution which are increasingly valued in order to identify the main concepts and topics that are considered key, drivers of research and those gaps that should be addressed in future research work for the conceptual framework of happiness management in organizations.Originality/valueConclusions are drawn that promoting corporate social responsibility strategies, aimed at fostering sustainability and care for the environment result in the well-being of organizations and the performance of their workers are highlighted.
