This paper discusses the translation quality of quranic verses from the point of view of their sensitivity. As containing many values and ways of life the problem that the people are facing is how to understand the values that exist in, between and beyond the lines of the Quran verses. The question is whether translation and interpretation can answer it. As a matter of fact, Qur’an verses have sensitivity to be responded in the form of the translated texts. The translated texts of Qur’an can be sensitive and controversial. Several translation version of quranic verses were taken as data to see the level of their sensitivity which can be seen from some aspect: that it may be contrary (1) to the state, (2) to religion (in a broad sense to the culture), (3) to decency, and (4) to private citizens. This category leads to a concomitant quartet of grounds for censorship: sedition, blasphemy, obscenity, and libel. The word “Yaddullah” in the section of “Al fath -verse-10”, for example, from the perspective of the contextual content of the text, would have become dichotomical meaning or even multicotomical ones. The first one tends to use the foriegnization, while the second tends to use domestication. Those who defend the word “Yaddun” as “the hand” or “tangan” as its word equivalence want to make their translation original not going out of the context of Islamic teaching. They believe that those who have gone out of Islamic teaching include unbelievers (that reject faith) and idolaters. The translation of “yaddu” into “hand” or “tangan” , according to some Muslims, contains the implication that the translator has its implied lack of respect for the original text, and because of the defeatist view of the ability of the target audience which entails. On the other hand, those who have translated that word “yaddun” into “power” or “kekuasaan” think that the translation into “hand” or “tangan” will disrupt and distort the image of God (Allah) existence. They are afraid that people think God is like human being having hands, head, legs and other part of the human body. Qur’an as a God’s text which was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad via the archangel Gabriel, and intended for all times and all places needs to be perceived carefully because many of its verses are still stated in the forms of general statement. They need to be translated and interpreted in a way that makes people live peacefully, not on the other way around. The deference point of view in understanding Qur’an verses must be supposed to be something that makes perspective of Muslims wide and tolerant.

Abstract-This study aimed to analyze the quality of accuracy, readability and acceptability of translation result of "Kataku 1.1" and "TransTool 10 rar" software programs. The researcher gave 75 questionnaires distributed and 56 respondents completed the forms and returned them to the researcher. The method used to analyze the data is descriptive qualitative research using speadly's component analysis technique. The problem raised focused on the quality of translation from the perspectives of the accuracy, readability and acceptability using Nababan"s criteria-based sampling technique for evaluating three aspects of qualification. The texts to be translated are the introductions of twelve texts. The method in this study started from raw data and analyzed them based on their domain, taxonomies, components analysis which were then verified and concluded. Here, investigation was on the translation accuracy, readability and acceptability of 2 language-pair combinations produced by Kataku version 1.1. The results of this study seen from accuracy level of Kataku V 1.1 and TransTool 10 rar showed that 45 sentences or 24% were accurate, 59 sentences or 32% were less accurate, and 81 sntences or 45% were inaccurate. At the acceptance level, 34 sentences or 18% were acceptable, 58 sentences or 31% were less acceptable, and 93 sentences or 50% were unacceptable. And at the level of legibility, 45 sentences or 24% has a high level of legibility, 59 sentences or 32% have a mid level of readability, and 81 sentences or 45% have a low level of legibility. While "Transtool 10 Rar" showed that 34 sentences or 18% were accurate, 59 sentences or 32% were less accurate, and 93 sentences or 50% were inaccurate. At the acceptance level, 23 sentences or 12% were acceptable, 57 sentences or 31% were less acceptable,104 sentences or 56 % were unacceptable. While the level of readability, 33 sentences or 18% had a high level of legibility, 49 sentences or 32% had a moderate level of readability, and 93 sentences or 50% had a low level of legibility.Viewed from the error level, most errors were sequently done at the level of semantics, syntax, phrase, word order, lexical, lost in contact, and word content. However, from the error rate made by both transtools, "Kataku V 1.1" had less errors than "Transtool 10 Rar".Whereas in terms of the equivalent types of "Kataku V 1.1 and Transtools V 10 rar" mentioned above showed little difference; both of them used more formal equivalents rather than grammatical equivalent. However, "Kataku V 1.1" used one-digit more grammatical equivalents than " Transtools 10 rar". Thus translation using "Kataku V 1.1" is reviewed a little better than " Transtool10 rar".Of the two Tran stools mentioned above Kataku V 1.1 has a higher level of accuracy, acceptability, and readability than Transtools 10 rar: however, both have inaccurate, unacceptable translation and also have low readability of translation.
This study deals with Logico Semantic Relation in CNN News text. The objectives of this study is to discover the types of Logico Semantic Relation of Clause Complex Used in CNN News and to know the dominant type of logical semantic systems interpreted in CNN News. The researcher applied qualitative approach and used content analysis design. The technique of collecting data was documentation. The data of the research was Logico Semantic Relation meanwhile the news text of CNN was as the data source of the research. The data were analyzed by data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The findings showed that (1) The types of Logico Semantic Relation used in the five news texts of CNN were Expansion (Elaboration, Enhancement, and Extension) and Projection (Locution). The total number of Logico Semantic Relation was 201 or 100% which consisted of 153 items or 76,10% of expansion and 48 items or 23,90% of projection. (2) Expansion (Elaboration) was the most dominant type among all kinds of Logico Semantic Relation which appeared in 92 times or 45,80%. The second rank was projection (locution) that was 48 times or 23,90%. The third position was expansion (Enhancement) which occurred 33 times or 16,40%. Meanwhile, Expansion (Extension) appeared 28 times or 13,90%, and the last one was projection (idea), which had no percentage (0 times or 0.00%). The researcher concludes that there are two types of Logico Semantic Relation used in the CNN news text, those are Expansion (Elaboration, Enhancement, and Extension) and Projection (Locution). The most dominant type of Logico Semantic Relation that appears in the text is Expansion (Elaboration).
In the context of translating from English into Indonesian, machine translations such as Kataku and Transtool have been mostly employed as pedagogical tools in learning and teaching reading of English as a Foreign Language. Whether teachers and students rely heavily or just refer to the machine translations as a helping tool in understanding the content of the text through reading, the question on the accuracy of the translation result produced by those machine translations is inevitable. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to assess the accuracy of the translation result produced by Transtool 10 and Kataku version 1.1, as the latest version of the time this study was designed, also as the most used machine translations and then draw its pedagogic implication on teaching and learning English as a Foreign Language, especially on reading skills. This study employed qualitative methods that are descriptive in nature. The qualitative paradigm applied is embedded case study with document analysis, Focus Group Discussion, and questionnaires as data collection techniques. The data are clauses and phrases from three different English textbooks: "Islamic Life and Thought", "Biology Second Edition", and "Nelson Book of Pediatrics". The data analysis techniques used are domain analysis, taxonomy analysis, componential analysis and finding cultural values. The result of the study shows that Transtool
