Purpose. To analyze the state of development of Ukraine's machinebuilding industry as a whole and its individual subsectors at the background of modern macro, microenvironment and in the context of new geopolitical situation. The task was set to model the development of the industry on the basis of the theory of fuzzy sets and to formulate suggestions for economic coopera tion with foreign investors, in particular EU countries in the field of machinebuilding. Methodology. The study is based on general scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, comparison, formalization, and others) and methods of statistical data analysis. The data regarding the main indicators of engineering enterprises' activities (the number of enterprises, the number of employed workers, average monthly nominal salary of workers, the volume of products sold by ma chinebuilding enterprises), as well as the volume of direct investments from Ukraine to economies of the world for the period of 2010-2017, was provided by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine. The apparatus of fuzzy logic (fuzzy sets) was used for studying and modeling the development of Ukraine's machinebuilding industry in the near future. This is one of the most effective math ematical theories aimed at formalizing and processing uncertainty of information. findings. The paper discusses the development trends of the machinebuilding in Ukraine for the period of 2010-2017. Despite the fact that in the structure of investments in fixed assets the machinebuilding complex makes up a large third, it was found that during 2010-2017 the number of enterprises and employed workers involved in the field of machinebuilding was steadily declin ing. Using the tools of economic and mathematical modeling based on fuzzy sets, the authors developed a model for assessing the level of development of the machinebuilding industry in the near future. According to the simulation performed, an optimistic and pessimistic forecast was developed taking into account and without taking into account the proposed parameters that cur rently affect the activities of machinebuilding enterprises in the context of the new geopolitical situation. originality. Using the tools of economic and mathematical modeling on the basis of fuzzy sets, a model for assessing the level of development of the machinebuilding industry for the near future was elaborated. Scientific originality is in the selection of quantitative and qualitative factors that have a significant impact on the dynamics of the development of machinebuilding in Ukraine. The improvement of the suggested parameters will bring Ukraine's machinebuilding to the European and world markets and will significantly improve the macroeconomic indicators of the national economy. The development of the market of international road freight transport directly depends on the use of innovative technologies in the processes of transportation, logistics, physical distribution, due to the implementation of the concept of Industry 4.0. This leads to the need to restructure the stereotypes of transport operation and the rapid introduction of modern technologies in the activities of motor transport enterprises in order to increase the economic efficiency of their operation. The article is devoted to the research of ways to increase the economic efficiency of the functioning of motor transport enterprises of Ternopil region in the segment of international road transport. A comprehensive analysis of the activities of international freight carriers registered in the Ternopil region, which revealed the key factors influencing the efficiency of their operation in the modern economy. According to the results of the survey of international carriers of Ternopil region, the factors influencing the efficiency of transportation were selected and structured, divided into external and internal, and they, in turn, were divided into positive and negative. The algorithm of economically justified choice of strategy of the motor transport enterprise, considering its current economic condition is made. It is recommended during the substantiation to use an enlarged set of mathematical models for determining the criterion of efficiency, in accordance with the current economic condition of the trucking company. The expediency of forming a database of methodological approaches and models for determining the economic efficiency of transportation, in particular in international traffic, is determined. The examples illustrate the selection of methods for determining the criterion of economic efficiency of transportation in accordance with the current state of the trucking company, during the reasonable choice of strategy.
The development of modern transport system connected with intensification of competitive struggle against the background of digitalization of transport processes requires domestic road carriers to find effective methods of increasing their own competitiveness in the international market of transport services. The article is devoted to the ways of increasing the competitiveness of domestic road transport enterprises in the segment of international road freight transport. Scientific approaches of interpretation of the term competitiveness of motor transport enterprises in terms of marketing, management, resource provision and profitability are considered. On the basis of the conducted review, a vision of competitiveness of motor transport enterprises in the segment of international cargo transportation is offered. Scientific researches devoted to the influence of management, marketing logistic methods on the competitiveness of motor transport enterprises are highlighted. The authors have compared scientific views on the choice and grouping of the factors of influence on the competitiveness of domestic motor transport enterprises and have offered the grouping of factors of influence on the competitiveness according to the possibility of their quantitative assessment. Existing methods for assessing the competitiveness of road transport enterprises were characterized. Modern tendencies of digital technologies implementation in transport systems activity have been investigated and the necessity of their implementation in the activity of domestic motor transport enterprises in the segment of international motor cargo transportations has been proved. The basic problems that hinder the implementation of modern digital technologies in the activities of domestic enterprises in the segment of international road freight transport haulage are formulated. Ways of improving the competitiveness of domestic enterprises in the segment of international road freight transport in today’s business environment have been proposed.
