Financial behavior is a category and its relevance for Russia is growing rapidly along with the activity of people who carry out daily interactions in a dynamic socio-economic space at all its territorial levels (local, regional, national, and supranational). In this context, the authors emphasize the scientific significance of studying the process of behavior transformation leading to financial results. From the point of view of the authors, this is due to the understanding of the primary and secondary interdependencies, the coherence of the concepts used, their sequence, priority, and significance. The aim of the article is to show the connectedness of elements in the behavior of people who are actors simultaneously in three subspaces: social, economic, and financial, which are organized hierarchically. The goal is due to the diversity of people’s financial behavior and the need for a counter study of both the factors influencing it and the analysis of monitoring the intertwining forms of financial behavior. The authors use methods of spatial analysis, content analysis, and sociological factor analysis. The factors of influence are placed in the “pyramid” of subspaces, which contributes to their prioritization, the vectors of people’s interaction, the economic, socio-demographic determinism of their actions, and the territorial differentiation of the financial infrastructure, and other aspects are also highlighted. The article systematizes scientific approaches to the study of the economic and financial activities of the population from the point of view of the relationship of incentive motives which simultaneously affect decision-making. The study identifies structural elements of each of the three subspaces (relationships-resources-choice-experience), within which a person (social group) forms and implements a particular model of behavior. The main theoretical concepts used in the study of financial behavior are singled out: social relations, economic resources, financial strategy, and their relationship. The authors conclude that the financial behavior of people has a spatial structure. Its result is determined by the categories of three subspaces — social, economic, and financial, which together represent the “matryoshka” model. The proposed methodology is significant for identifying the characteristics of the financial behavior of young people and the factors influencing the transformation of their financial literacy.

The self-preserving behavior of young people is of particular interest, since the prospects for the reproduction of the population and the development of the economy depend on it. The article presents the results of a sociological study of the self-preservation behavior of young residents of Moscow, many of whom came from Russian regions. There were studied the ideas of young people about the role of lifestyle in ensuring health and longevity, the meaning and obligatory nature of take care of health, the influence of primary socialization and the current social environment, as well as models of behavior in terms of combining work and rest, eating habits, physical activity, seeking medical help. It is shown that the majority of young people living in the capital are aware of the value of health, consider taking care of it the norm and duty of every person, and see the lifestyle as the key factor in health and longevity. The parental families of the majority of respondents do not have pronounced self-preservation practices, while the current social environment treats health care with understanding. Basically, the respondents deny bad habits, have a good psycho-emotional status. However, not everyone can afford quality food and regular meals. Young people often sleep much less than they should, do not often go in for sports and are in the fresh air. The medical activity of young people is controversial. The majority of respondents express their willingness to undergo regular medical examinations and screening examinations. At the same time, almost half of young people carry disease on the legs, explaining this by their unwillingness to miss classes, lose wages and annoy the employer. Due to the unsatisfactory according to young people accessibility and quality of free medical care, they have to self-medicate or go to private clinics, the cost of which services two-thirds of the respondents considered very tangible. Thus, the self-preserving attitudes that young residents of Moscow have in many respects run into problems of a material nature.
Formation of financial institutions in society, development of the financial services market and effective financial relations is impossible without formation of a developed financial and economic culture. Today, such a financial and economic system can be viable, which will take into account the social aspects of society's life, its factors and prerequisites, as well as values that really contribute to the survival, preservation and development of humanity, strengthening its unity, expanding its potential. Taking this into account, formation of a financial and economic culture based on universal principles in the context of new trends in the socio-cultural development of the country is one of the most acute modern problems. Each financial and economic system corresponds to a special basic model of financial and economic culture and values, which is manifested in national specific forms in each country. There are no «good» and « bad» cultures, but there are functional or dysfunctional cultures relative to the financial and economic system. According to the criterion of the essence, financial and economic culture is a type of social culture of society that provides for the needs of multidimensional human activity in specialized types of financial and economic activity. In modern society, there is a tendency to raising the cultural level of production. It finds expression in use of the latest technology and technological processes, advanced methods of labor organization, progressive forms of management and planning, scientific achievements. The direction of this development is determined, on the one hand, by the opportunities contained in the set of conditions that define the boundaries of economic culture, on the other hand, by the degree and ways of realizing these opportunities in the conditions of changes in the innovative economy. In view of this, analysis of patterns of financial and economic culture and creation of mechanisms for influencing them is an important managerial task, no less important than creation of an innovative economy and construction of a rule-of-law state. Based on the study of factors affecting the formation of the financial and economic culture of Russians, the authors developed classification, which includes the factors of the Russian cultural archetype; of the socio-economic context; of vertical and horizontal socialization.
