A dor oncológica é frequentemente progressiva e incapacitante. A maioria dos pacientes diagnosticados com câncer irá vivenciar alguma experiência álgica no decorrente de seu tratamento ou evolução da doença. Nesse sentido, este estudo objetivou analisar através da revisão da literatura o manejo de enfermagem para o controle da dor em pacientes oncológicos. No intuito de alcançar esse objetivo foi realizada uma revisão integrativa da literatura, realizando as buscas na Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde-BVS. Foram utilizados os Descritores em Ciências da Saúde (DeCS): “Cancer Pain” e seu correspondente em português “Dor Oncológica”; e “Nursing Care” e seu correspondente em português “Cuidado de Enfermagem”. Foram encontrados 16 estudos, tendo sido selecionados para o estudo após a aplicação dos critérios de exclusão nove. No estudo pode-se perceber que o manejo da dor pela enfermagem em pacientes oncológicos tem sido um desafio para a prática de cuidados levando em consideração, a gravidade do problema e a subjetividade do fenômeno álgico. Os resultados evidenciaram um predomínio das atividades de gerenciamento dos métodos de controle da dor, onde o enfermeiro e sua equipe investem cuidados no monitoramento e avaliação da dor.
