ABSTRAK
Carica papaya merupakan salah satu tanaman yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan. Namun, biji C. papaya kurang dimanfaatkan, hanya digunakan sebagai bibit, dan sisanya dibuang. Sediaan yang dibuat dalam penelitian ini adalah masker gel peel off ekstrak metanol bji C. papaya dengan variasi konsentrasi HPMC dan PVA. Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan pengaruh kombinasi HPMC dan PVA terhadap kestabilan formula gel selama perlakuan cycling test selama 6 siklus. Tiga formula sediaan masker gel peel off yaitu F1 (HPMC 2%: PVA 10%), F2 (HPMC 3%:PVA 9%), dan FIII (HPMC 4%: PVA 8%). Hasil evaluasi (daya lekat, daya sebar, pH, waktu kering, dan viskositas) penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan SPSS dan level kepercayaan 95%. Kulit bawang merah (Allium ascalonicum L.) merupakan salah satu limbah rumah tangga yang sangat jarang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat. Berdasarkan penelitian sebelumnya, kulit bawang merah mengandung senyawa flavonoid yang berpotensi sebagai antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi ekstrak kulit bawang merah yang mampu menghambat 50% absorbansi DPPH. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian eksperimental. Kulit bawang merah diekstraksi, dilakukan skrining fotokimia, dan dilakukan penetapan IC50 antiradikal bebas. Rendemen ekstrak kulit bawang yang diperoleh adalah sebesar 5,381 %. Berdasarkan penelitian ini diketahui ekstrak kulit bawang merah mengadung polifenol, flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin, steroid dan triterpenoid, kuinon serta seskuiterpen dan monoterpen. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak kulit bawang merah dapat dilihat dari nilai IC50 yaitu sebesar 15,44 ppm sedangkan IC50 kuersetin yaitu sebesar 2,69 ppm. Nilai IC50 ekstrak kulit bawang merah yang diperoleh termasuk dalam golongan antioksidan yang sangat aktif.
