ABSTRACT
A research on combined the effectiveness Test of combination of tree bark and rind extract of Mangosteen (Gracinia mangostana L.) as antibacteria on Shigella dysenteriae to know the effective concentration of tree bark and rind extract of Mangosteen in inhibiting the growth of Shigella dysenteriae had been conducted from March to May 2011. Research method used is disk diffusion (Kirby-bauer). The obtained concentration in preliminary test MIC which were used to exam combined effectiveness test of each tree bark and rind extract of mangosteen were 5,5 % ; 6,25 % ; 7 % ; 7,75 % ; 8,5 % and 4,5 % ; 5,25 % ; 6 % ; 6,75 % ; 7,5 %. Pandanus species is widely distributed over Bukit Duabelas National Park in Jambi. Suku Anak Dalam (SAD), a local community living in Bukit Duabelas National Park area, use the natural fibers from Pandanus for many necessities, such as plaiting, building materials, and performing mytological rituals. This study aimed to examine floristic composition, distribution patterns, and association of pandanus species in Bukit Duabelas National Park. Sampling was conducted using a striped line, with a plot of 35 sample plots. Dominance of species was calculated using dominant type of important Value Index (IVI) based on the density, frequency, and dominance of sample plot enumeration. Distribution patterns was analyzed using the Morisita Index, while association patterns were measured by Contingency tables and Chi-square tests. Floristic composition was mostly found in the seedling strata consisting of 106 species. The species with highest important value index (IVI=14.53) was Palaquium gutta. There were two species of Pandanus (Benstonea kurzii and Benstonea atrocarpa) were spread in groups and three species of pandanus (Pandanus labyrinthicus, Pandanus furcatus, and Pandanus immersus) were spread evenly. The pandanus species found was associated with Benstonea kurzii was Litsea sp1. This present study suggested that the conservation of pandanus species should be conducted as a piece of rehabilitation of tropical forests in Bukit Duabelas National Park.
The Javan Eagle Wildlife Sanctuary Center (PSSEJ) is one of the regions in Indonesia that has a high diversity of flora and fauna in Bogor, West Java. One of the fauna that live in PSSEJ is an insect of the order Lepidoptera. The limited information about Lepidoptera in this location causes the data on the diversity of these species to not be known with certainty. It is necessary to research the diversity of Lepidoptera. This study aims to study the species diversity of the order Lepidoptera at the Javan Eagle Wildlife Sanctuary Center. This research is an exploratory research conducted from December 2020 to August 2021 in two routes, namely track 1 (camping ground area) and route 2 (officer entrance route and land use). The research method uses a survey method using a sweeping net technique. Collecting data in the form of primary data covering the number of Lepidoptera species and secondary data covering temperature, humidity and light intensity. Based on the research, it was found 39 species of the order Lepidoptera with a moderate diversity index of 2.84, a high evenness index of 0.87 and a low dominance index of 0.08.
