ÖZToplumların yemek alışkanlığı tarihsel bir süreçle ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu süreç içerisinde oluşan yemek kültürü toplumun genel yapısını yansıtmaktadır. Ancak dönemler içerisinde oluşan yemek kültüründe kayıplar meydana gelmektedir. Bu yüzden yapılan yemeklerin kayıt altına alınması önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada Bartın il, ilçe ve köylerinde yaşayan 45 yaş üstü kadınlarla görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Görüşmelerde Bartın iline özgü tatlılar hakkında bilgiler kaynak kişilerden bilgi alınmıştır. Tatlıların içerisinde kullanılan malzemeler ve tatlının üretim metodu hakkında bilgiler toplanmıştır. Toplanan bu bilgiler sonucunda bölgede özellikle baklava türü şerbetli çeşitlerinin yapıldığı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca sütlü tatlılarda bol miktarda bulunmaktadır. Bölgenin önemli tatlıları arasında höşmerim, un helvası, nişasta helvası ve kabak böreği tatlısı da katılımcılar tarafından bildirilmiştir. Katılımcıların anlattıkları tatlıların birçoğunu günümüzde de yapmaya devam ettikleri ancak bazılarının neredeyse tamamen unutulduğunu bildirmişlerdir. Mutfak kültürlerinin yaşatılabilmesi için kayıt altına alınması önem taşımaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı, unutulmaya yüz tutmuş bölge tatlılarının belirlenerek turizme kazandırılması ve farklı bölgelerle olan benzerlik ve farklılıkların tespit edilmesidir.
