Este trabalho visa tipificar, explicar e entender um dos caminhos escolhidos pelo Movimento de lésbicas, gays, bissexuais, travestis e transexuais (LGBT) -a Parada do Orgulho LGBT -, para gerar visibilidade de suas demandas e reivindicações por direitos civis. Parte de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental para compreender os reais objetivos do evento e debater seus ônus e bônus para este segmento social, a partir da aplicação do método espetacular para o alcance da visibilidade pretendida, via mídia.
O artigo problematiza as narrativas discursivas de jovens denominados “bichas pretas”, a partir das intersecções entre homofobia e racismo. Por meio de pesquisa em doze canais do YouTube, explicitamos a reivindicação por imagens que objetivam resistir ao apagamento de subjetividades negras e gays na mídia. Metodologicamente, a análise segue percurso bibliográfico e investigação exploratória para debater o YouTube como ferramenta de vocalização de sujeitos oprimidos pela heteronormatividade e racismo.
Falar sobre transformar narrativas se tornou quase um lugar comum no campo da comunicação por direitos. Mas o que isso quer dizer e como pode estar realmente a serviço da justiça social? Para Shanelle Mathews, é imprescindível que movimentos sociais produzam “poder narrativo”, de modo que possam “expandir a percepção coletiva do que é social, econômica e politicamente possível”. A entrevistada é ativista, comunicadora e professora, e se dedica a colaborar com ativistas, organizações e campanhas de justiça social para inspirar ações e construir poder narrativo. É diretora de Comunicação do Movimento por Vidas Negras (Movement for Black Lives - M4BL), fundadora da Radical Communicators Network (Rede de Comunicadores Radicais - RadComms) e professora da The New School, universidade em Nova Iorque. Suas ideias dão pistas para o enfrentamento dos desafios comunicacionais dos movimentos sociais progressistas, rumo à construção de “uma narrativa robusta que sirva de sustentação para um futuro mais libertador".
Resumo: Este artigo busca explicitar a ambiência midiática como possível espaço de cura para bichas pretas, que criam repertórios e produzem sentidos outros sobre si. Visa debater o cotidiano midiatizado de gays negros como disputa de protagonismo e mitigação de um imaginário racista e homofóbico. Ensaístico, o trabalho reflete sobre três documentários biográficos ("Além de Preto, Viado", "Afronte" e "Bicha Preta"), disponíveis em streamings . A hipótese é de que tais narrativas e imagens corporificam modos de operações de resistência; levantes digitais, que se valem da célere difusão midiática para afetar corações e mentes e fissurar regimes de visibilidade excludentes.
