<p>Objetivo: identificar os principais achados em artigos científicos sobre a identidade profissional da enfermeira. Método: estudo do tipo revisão integrativa da literatura, desenvolvido com base na pesquisa bibliográfica sobre artigos científicos a respeito do tema. Utilizada a base de dados da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde. Compuseram a amostra final 12 publicações científicas. Para análise dos dados, utilizou-se a técnica de análise de conteúdo. Resultados: os dados evidenciaram que a identidade profissional da enfermeira está relacionada com o sentido religioso, com intercessões com os sentidos militar e profissional oriundos da origem da profissão. Conclusão: a identidade profissional da enfermeira está fortemente relacionada com a questão religiosa, sofreu influência da organização militar e apresenta indícios que demonstram seu objetivo de se firmar como profissão e ciência. <br />Descritores: Enfermeira. Objective: To analyze disciplinary resources in nursing based on the life histories of militant nurses. Methods: Historical research, using a qualitative approach, that was conducted with nurses who militate for professional reasons. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews, organized using NVivo 10 software, and analyzed based on dialectical hermeneutics. Results: The following disciplinary resources were identified: religiosity, gender, surveillance, coercion, and punishment strategies. Conclusion: These resources constitute a panoptic structure, and are used for domination and maintenance of the subaltern role of nurses, beginning in the educational process and moving into the labor market. Finally, this study indicates the need to review nursing education, as well as pedagogical practices, in order to favor professional formation and actions that are effectively critical, reflexive, and emancipatory. ResumoObjetivo: Analisar recursos de disciplinarização na Enfermagem com base nas histórias de vida de enfermeiras militantes. Métodos: Pesquisa histórica, de abordagem qualitativa, realizada com enfermeiras que militam por questões profissionais. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas, organizados com auxílio do software NVivo 10 e analisados com base na hermenêutica dialética. Resultados: identificados os seguintes recursos de disciplinarização: a religiosidade, o gênero e as estratégias de vigilância, coação e punição. Conclusão: Tais recursos compõem uma estrutura panóptica e são utilizados para dominação e manutenção da subalternidade por parte de enfermeiras desde o processo formativo até o mercado de trabalho. Por fim, este estudo aponta para necessidade de rever a formação em Enfermagem, bem como as práticas pedagógicas, de modo a favorecer a formação e atuação efetivamente críticas, reflexivas e emancipatórias.
Objectives: to analyze nurses’ professional militancy in the institutionality field, presented by the printed media from Bahia State in the 1970s and 1980s. Methods: a historical and qualitative research under Social History’s perspective, whose data source was the newspaper A Tarde. The temporal cut-off encompasses milestones such as professional body restructuring and creation. Results: the Associação Brasileira de Enfermagem democratization movement was reported in a superficial way, highlighting the struggle for power spaces. With respect to Conselhos Federal e Regional de Enfermagem daBahia, the newspaper notified creation and function of bodies, however, there was no visibility to the newspaper’s performance. Concerning the union, there was political fragility of nurses against the creation and union participation in the fight for labor rights. Final Considerations: organization of political action occurred from isolated groups mobilization of professionals who were already traveling in political spaces, not the large mass of professionals.

Objective:To analyze the history of the life and activism of Portuguese nurse Maria Augusta Sousa. Method: Sousa's life story was obtained by means of semi-structured interviews with Sousa as the oral source of data. N Vivo qualitative research software was used for data analysis. Content analysis focused on thematic analysis based on the theoretical and philosophical ideas of Michel Foucault, in particular, power and techniques of the self. Results: Alienation and political participation were revealed as pertinent issues. In techniques of production of activist subjects, the following were highlighted: the importance of the review of formal education; actions of involvement with the world, society and the profession; and finally, techniques of the self, techniques of constitution of activist subjects, professional identity and way of being. Conclusion: The constitution of the nurse Maria Augusta Sousa as an activist came about through questioning of how to be, education in the context of her family, and political engagement in Catholic Youth. This impacted her trajectory of contributions to Portuguese nursing, as expressed in the following achievements: the integration of nursing training into higher education; the creation of the Regulation of Nurses Professional Practice; and implementation of the Order of Nurses. We identified pedagogical, administrative, public health, sociological, and trade union background knowledge as constituent of militant individuals. Final considerations: The constituting knowledge of militant nurses are inscribed in the Social Sciences, distanced from biomedical knowledge and power, pointing at ways for structuring nursing curricula. We identified the Brazilian Association of Nursing as a space for political formation.
RESUMO Objetivo Analisar a imagem da enfermeira na imprensa escrita nas décadas de 1930 a 1950 e suas repercussões nas décadas de 1970 a 1980. Método Estudo histórico-documental com abordagem qualitativa, que utilizou como fontes de dados às reportagens publicadas no Jornal baiano A Tarde nas décadas de 1930 a 1980, marcadas por importantes acontecimentos históricos nos cenários nacional e internacional, discussões sobre transformação da imagem e reconstrução da identidade profissional da enfermeira. Resultados Foram identificadas três representações centrais da enfermeira na impressa jornalística: a imagética religiosa e militar da profissão e as repercussões das imagens das enfermeiras como produto/produtoras de outras imagéticas que se escreveram no tempo histórico e que serão produtos de continuidades, rupturas e descontinuidades. Conclusões e implicações para a prática As imagens da enfermeira e suas repercussões são cocriações determinadas no campo social político e econômico que atravessa os tempos e a história estando relacionada aos interesses governamentais e de mercado.
