Reading skill is an aspect that exists in the language skills of elementary school students which must always be mastered by students. Difficulty reading is also a distraction and a barrier that can hinder an aspect of students' reading ability. The purpose of this study is to analyze students' difficulties in reading beginning in grade 1 of elementary school. Researchers used qualitative research methods using qualitative descriptive types. The research location was carried out in June 2023 at SD Negeri Cimone 6, with a total of 31 students. Data collection methods that will be used by researchers are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that students at SDN 6 Cimone who had difficulty reading beginning were grade 1 students. The type of students' initial reading difficulty was recognizing letters with almost the same shape. Beginning reading difficulties experienced by students are caused by internal factors and external factors. Efforts made by the teacher to reduce reading difficulties in students are by providing additional hours and designing learning that increases student enthusiasm for learning.
This study aimed to determine the influence of the Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) learning model in terms of social skills in improving students’ mathematical representation abilities. This research employed the quasi-experiment design with an essay test and questionnaire as the research instruments. Both classes were given pretests and posttests. The data were analyzed using the two-way ANOVA with a significance level of 5%. %. The research results discovered that (1) there was an influence of the SFAE learning model in improving students’ mathematical representation ability, (2) there was an influence of high, medium, and low social skills in improving mathematical representation ability, and (3) there was no interaction between the SFAE learning model and social skills in increasing students’ mathematical representation ability. This shows that SFAE learning has an effect on increasing the representative ability of students, so it is hoped that educational institutions can use this learning in the learning process.
The purpose of this study was to find out and analyze the development, validity and practicality of the Domino Card learning media on the subject of knowing the location of residence for class VII SMP Negeri 3 Palembayan. This study uses the type of research and development (Research and Development). The subjects of this research are the seventh grade students at SMPN 3 Palembayan in the 2022/2023 academic year. The data analysis techniques used in this study are validation analysis using ICC, validity analysis, and practicality analysis. The results of the study show that: 1.) Making Domino card learning media involves validation by experts in the fields of Media, Education and Materials. After obtaining media validation data and processing it using the Interaclass Coefitien Correlation (ICC) formula assisted by the SPSS program, the result is 0.889. If the validation result is more than 0.50, then the validation level is considered valid. 2.) After processing research data collected from questionnaires, and conducting practicality tests, a total score of 1.134 was obtained with an average level of 4.36 and a percentage of 87.23% in the "Very Practical" category. 3.) After evaluating data processing using Microsoft Excel, domino card learning media can increase student interest in learning. The results of student interest in learning in the control class with a total score of 2064, an average of 3.3024 with a percentage of 82.56%, while students' interest in learning in the experimental class obtained a total score of 2371, an average of 3.6477 with a percentage of 91.19%. The need of developing metacognitive ability-knowing students’ cognitive capacity, the difficulties they meet in learning, and strategies to resolve the difficulties – must be highlighted. In accordance with this need, this research aims to find out the extent of which the implementation of students’ reflection, as a self-assessment, can facilitate students’ metacognitive awareness in a speaking class. This two-cycle action research involved 25 freshmen majoring in Dentistry whose placement test scores ranged between 453 and 617. This study took place in a Free Conversation class in a Language Training Center of a private university in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. For data collection, a 52-items questionnaire entitled “Metacognitive Awareness Inventory” (MAI) adopted from Schraw and Dennison (1994) was distributed as the instrument to measure students’ metacognitive awareness before and after the action, and the participants were required to write reflections. Teacher’s journals and class discussion were taken to triangulate the findings. The findings showed that inthe first cycle, the students haven’t been able to describe their experiences including the difficulties they met during the learning as well as the strategies must be applied to overcome the difficulties. In the second cycle, most of the students have grown their metacognitive awareness as they were able to express their difficulties and the strategies in handling them. Briefly, the reflection written by the students has initiated the growth of students’ metacognitive awareness regardless some constraints appear. Thus, requiring students to reflect on their own learning and harness their metacognitive awareness may result in better learning.
The aims of this research is to investigate the influence of Adversity Quotient and Personal Attitude on Entrepreneurship Interest in Economics Education students. This study's population consisted of 216 students enrolled in Economics Education at Padang State University's Faculty of Economics in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. This study employed Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling as its sampling method. The data used are both primary and secondary. The data gathering tool used is a questionnaire. Descriptive analysis, analysis precondition test, multiple regression, T test, F test, and determinant coefficient were employed in data analysis. The sesult of this research is student's interest in entrepreneurship will be high if student has a positive view of what they are doing, this view will lead someone to be able to maintain or continue his interest in entrepreneurship.
