Training on Writing Scientific Papers to Encourage Quality Improvement of High School Level Students ABSTRACT The scientific paper is an essay written by following scientific rules that are the main requirement so that the resulting essay can be justified scientifically. The purpose of the training is to increase the interest, enthusiasm, creative, and innovative ideas from students of class X and XI of SMAN 5 Samarinda to create a scientific paper that is following the rules. Based on the implementation of the training, it can be concluded that it is run well and received support from the school. All participants follow this activity until the end with an attendance rate of 100%. They are enthusiastic to ask, explore, and express their ideas and opinions. Then, in the future, it is expected that there will be further activities involving the teachers to optimization the role of assistants to create their student’s scientific papers. Keywords: scientific paper, scientific rules, students.
CoronaVirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has dramatically affected people’s lives in Indonesia, including the economic sector. Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) has announced that Indonesia’s inflation tends to weaken, and in July 2020, it reached -0.01%. This change in the inflation trend was due to an increase in layoffs (PHK) and the existence of a work scheme to become Work From Home (WFH). This study intends to find a model of Indonesia’s inflation to the number of additional positive cases of COVID-19 infection using panel data regression analysis with the one-way (individual-effect) fixed-effects model approach. The data used are inflation rate data and the number of additional positive cases infected per province in Indonesia per month, from January to July 2020. Based on this inflation model, one can determine the relationship between the inflation rate and the number of additional positive cases infected. The analysis using panel data regression analysis with the one-way (individual-effect) fixed-effects model approach obtained that the increase in the number of positive cases affected Indonesia’s inflation, where each addition of one case will reduce the inflation value by 5.14 × 10−5.
Somers'd correlation is a analysis of correlate is used for data with ordinal scale and formed in a contingency table. Somers'd correlation can be used for symmetric and asymmetric relationships. In this case, will be explained about Somers’d asymmetric correlation. Somers'd dYX correlation for asymmetrical association applied to data from questionnaires about their comfortable level of Students live in dorms of Melati formed into 2 contingency table, the contingency table for boarding facilities with the comfortable level of students and the quality of the food with the comfortable level of students. Based on the analysis of correlation Somers'd dYX, it can be seen that there is relationship between boarding facility with comfortable level of students and quality of food with comfortable level of students, and then correlation coefficient from 2 contingency table is 0,330 and 0,345 respectively
Most robust estimation methods for panel data regression models do not consider the panel data structure consisting of several cross-sections and time-series units. This robust method, which does not consider the panel data structure, can completely remove all observations from a cross-section unit in trimming outlier observations. However, it can cause biased estimation results for the cross-section unit. This study determines the robust estimate for the unbalanced panel data regression model using Groupwise Principal Sensitivity Components (GPSC) by considering grouped structure data. The results were compared with Within-Group (WG) estimation and other robust estimation methods, namely Within- Group estimation with median centering (Median WG), Within-Group Least Trimmed Squares (WG-LTS), and Within Generalized M (WGM) estimators. Comparisons were made based on the Mean Squares Error (MSE) value. In this study, we applied the proposed method to the unemployed and the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) data at constant prices in Kalimantan, Indonesia. The analysis showed that GPSC was the best method with the smallest MSE value. Therefore, we can consider implementing and developing the GPSC method to detect and determine the robust estimates for the unbalanced panel data regression model because it fits the panel data structure.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
