A novel chaos based pseudo-noise (PN) sequence generation technique is presented. This technique is based on the direct quantization of chaotic maps, which guarantees the generation of repeatable sequences based only on the initial condition. A cell based sequence generator architecture based on the presented approach has been developed and implemented as a prototype integrated circuit. The simulation and test results show that a very large space of P N sequences with desirable statistical properties for spread spectrum communication systems can be generated in a robust, scalable, and programmable manner.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
