Interactive multimedia based learning containing problem solving may have been researched, however there are stigma that learning how to do problem solving conventionally particularly for colleague students is still favorable. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate factors affect the student learning outcomes. The independent variable is a teaching method in the form of interactive multimedia based on problem solving (IMM-PS) and the dependent variable is students' thinking ability in physics. Specifically, this study aims to analyze the problem solving abilities of students in physics education programs after they have been exposed to interactive multimedia based problem solving methods. The research type is quasi-experiment. The sample were second year physics education students who studying wave electric magnetic subjects, as many as seventy students. The test of science process skills in the form of formal descriptions as well as reasoning tests in the form of descriptions were used as instruments for this study. The results show that the problem solving ability of students who study physics using interactive multi-media based problem solving is better than students who learn through conventional methods.
This study is the first year of three years. This study aims to describe the relationship of the development of teaching materials to learning styles in improving learning outcomes. The type of research used in the entire study is Research and Development (R & D). Research subjects are lecturers and Students in Basic of Mathematics and Sciences Group. The first year's study contains the need assessment, and the drafting of the initial draft of textbooks for high school physics courses with ICARE-oriented Students Worksheet. Data collection techniques used were questionnaire, observation, interview, and documentation study, and supported by logbooks and focus group discussion (FGD). The results shown in the development of the device indicate that the development of ICARE-based teaching materials is not influenced and does not have a significant relationship in one of the learning styles.
ICARE-Based Student Worksheet (ICARE-BSW) was a learning tool equipped with the ICARE (Introduction, Connecting, Apply, Reflecting, and Extend) steps used in the learning process and its achievement activities. Researchers have conducted a limited test of the use of ICARE Based Student Worksheet (ICARE-BSW) with 6 groups of Students on 5 ICARE Based Student Worksheets (ICARE-BSW) with different tools. Learners have been done on the Student worksheet by following the steps of ICARE. In addition, at the end of the meeting also carried out the responses to the use of the Student Worksheet, appearance, and understanding of the tools. This response was a major source of development and change that will be applied to the improvement and progress of the ICARE Based Student Worksheet (ICARE-BSW). The results of the responses show that the ICARE Based Student Worksheet view is interesting, the learning tools are lacks, and it needs to be developed again work instructions on the use of ICARE Based Student Worksheet (ICARE-BSW) in learning. Further development is directed towards improving the tools, quality, and quantity of ICARE-Based Student Worksheet (ICARE-BSW) use in the application of large group trials at different grade levels. The researcher provided a response questionnaire to see the Student’s responses about the ease of access, adequacy of content, and appeal of the use of ICARE-Based Student Worksheets (ICARE-BSW) involving Educative Participants in interacting and improving productive skills and knowledge in learning. The results of a questionnaire of responses illustrate that the use of ICARE Based Student Worksheet (ICARE-BSW) is good enough in improving student’s skills on physics introduction level.
Creativity is one of the important elements in learning physics but is rarely studied to find out the effects of teaching applied to increasing creativity. The research is intended to describe the use of The ICARE Practice Based on Worksheet in increasing student creativity in the Physics Education Study Program. The course assessment formally uses The ICARE Practice Based on Worksheet and the Independent Torrance Test for creativity. At the beginning of the lesson given an explanation of work instructions followed by group organizing. The group used The ICARE Practice Based on Worksheet to conduct physics experiments with the guidance of lecturers. The experimental results of each group were presented by each group and continued with interactive debates between presenters and comparison groups. Input provided by lecturers and students is used to make reports individually. The Independent Torrance Test is given as a pretest and posttest. Increased creativity is an effect of applying The ICARE Practice Based on Worksheet in experimentation. The gain is based test results were obtained from the posttest and pretest ratings. The test results show that improvement through creativity indicators is achieved on Originality, Flexibility, and Elaboration. The indicator has an increase of more than 70 % of the number of students with N-Gain score is 0.38 in the medium category.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
