Recusando a tradição moderna do discurso crítico, a autora busca, em vez do paradigma da abordagem analítica e a atitude de subsumir o trabalho de arte à categoria dos conceitos, a aproximação a uma matéria, por assim dizer, em estado bruto. Com tal interpretação, a autora visa uma posição que expande a relevância da arte para além dos limites da tradição filosófica crítico-kantiana, buscando libertá-la dos pilares onto-epistemológicos que alicerçam o pensamento moderno.
