A and B, two novel and unusual epicatechin and epiafzelechin derivatives bearing glucosylated phenyloctanoid units, along with quercetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-Dglucopyranoside were isolated from the aerial parts of Mascagnia pubiflora (Malpighiaceae), a plant toxic to cattle. Their structures were established by a combination of 1D-and 2D-nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopic techniques and mass spectrometry data.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
