Abstract: Our investigations propose poetic and political interventions with the cities that we are, and with which we invent ways of living and living together – attentive to the relations, singularities and agencies between art, the city and life –, in practices that exercise collective and transdisciplinary modes of investigating and intervening. We question: how can art activate aesthetic experiences with the different time-spaces of cities and the university? A university that moves in between cities, and with cities. The arts and the university go through spaces of everyday life and coexistence, with the streets, squares, beaches, alleys, corners, houses, abandoned sites and green areas – non-conventional spaces of arts. To make the arts and the university move with everyday life demands inventing ways of making-knowing. One of the challenges of this writing is to think about the specif icities of a research laboratory in arts, how it requires different protocols of research, thinking, vision and invention of world(s). In this piece, we want to instigate readers to become acquainted with the Laboratory Arts and Urban Micropolitics (LAMUR), of the Arts Graduate Program (PPGArtes) at the Institute of Culture and Art (ICA) of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC). Keywords: Arts; micropolitics; investigate with; invention; cartography.
Especially interested in resistance through affects, and the micropolitics activated by desire and what makes us want to live, we go on a research-expedition, where contemporary art meets cartography. How to research and intervene as a way to activate aesthetic experiences, with the different times-spaces of the city and the university? This question guides the activities of LAMUR, the Arts and Urban Micropolitics Laboratory (Laboratório Artes e Micropolíticas Urbanas), and among them, ConversAções at the Vizinho Beach, and Micropolitics and Revolution, presented in this work. Moving the arts and the university with urban everyday life demands inventing ways of savoir-faire. The city’s questions instigate conversations and gatherings with the streets; revolution, utopia and heterotopias overflow in images that become collaborative audiovisual projections, wheatpaste, photography and collages. The arts of interventions are entwining with ways of living and living together, propelling the potency of collective and singular processes in resisting and inventing cities. Keywords: Contemporary art. City. Micropolitics. Invention. Cartography.
