a high proportion of elderly presented functional disability; the outcomes were associated to the following variables: demographic, socioeconomic, behavioral, health status and use of health services.
Objective: To get to know the adaptation process experienced by a woman, motivated by the birth of a child with cerebral palsy. Methods:The investigation was performed with a descriptive, exploratory methodology, focusing on the qualitative approach. Six women, mothers of children with brain palsy, participated in the study. Data collection happened in an institution that delivers care to children with special needs, located in a town of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Results: data analysis revealed that the woman abdicates from her social, professional and even personal life to take better care of her child. Besides, these mothers were shown to need psychosocioeconomic support from their families and the people who surround them, in both the process of initial adaptation and overcoming and the whole period of care for the child. Conclusion: The woman assumes and experiences the responsibility of taking care of the child with special needs. Esse estudo teve por objetivo conhecer as vivências maternas sobre a assistência recebida durante o trabalho de parto e parto em que o filho sofreu asfixia perinatal grave. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva-exploratória com abordagem qualitativa. Os dados foram coletados por meio da entrevista semiestruturada, com seis mulheres que vivenciaram o processo de parturição em que seus filhos sofreram asfixia perinatal grave, no período de 2005-2007, na cidade de Rio Grande/RS. Os resultados apontaram aspectos positivos e negativos na assistência recebida durante o processo da parturição. Como positivos emergiram: o diálogo, a confiança e a agilidade no atendimento. Como aspectos negativos destacaram-se: o despreparo do profissional para assistir a mulher no momento da intercorrência durante o trabalho de parto e parto; a desumanização na assistência; e a ausência de um acompanhante durante o processo. Salienta-se a necessidade de se rever a assistência prestada à mulher durante o processo de parturição.
RESUMOObjetivo: conhecer a percepção dos pais quanto a inserção de atividades lúdicas durante a internação hospitalar da criança. Métodos: estudo qualitativo, descritivo e exploratório, realizado de outubro a dezembro de 2012 em um hospital no Brasil. Foram entrevistados seis pais de crianças internadas. A entrevista ocorreu em duas etapas: inicialmente, as crianças foram abordadas de forma lúdica durante os cuidados de enfermagem. Após foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com os pais. O estudo foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética e Pesquisa sob o número 083/2012. Resultados: da análise surgiram dois eixos temáticos: as dificuldades encontradas pelas crianças durante o período de internação hospitalar, e, os benefícios da inserção de atividades lúdicas durante a hospitalização. Considerações finais: com a utilização de atividades lúdicas, conclui-se que essas são capazes de tornar o ambiente hospitalar menos ameaçador, possibilitando resgatar sorrisos e alegria de ser criança. ABSTRACTObjective: to know the perception of the parents regarding the insertion of play activities during the hospitalization of the child. Methods: qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study, carried out from October to December 2012 in a hospital in Brazil. Parents of six hospitalized children were interviewed. The interview was made in two stages: first, the children were raised in a playful, during nursing care. After, semi-structured interviews with the parents were conducted. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee with number 083/2012. Results: two theme from the analysis emerged: the difficulties faced by children during the hospitalization, and the benefits of inclusion of recreational activities during hospitalization. Final considerations: with the use of recreational activities, we can conclude that they are able to make the hospital environment least threatening, enabling rescue smiles and the joy of being a child.
Objective: to identify and to analyze the support systems used by family members for the adaptation process to the child’s hospitalization in the intensive care unit. Method: qualitative research, conducted in a hospital located in the Southern Brazil. Data were collected between June and July 2017, through semi-structured interviews with family members of hospitalized children. The adaptation model and thematic analysis were used for data processing. Results: four themes emerged: family and friends as a support system; the family members of other hospitalized children as a support system; spirituality as a support system; health team as a support system. Final considerations: identifying the support systems used in the process of family adaptation and their manifestations of interdependence was possible. The need of the nurses to intensify the listening to strengthen the support system of the family members of the children hospitalized in the unit studied.
