Objective: The aim of this study was to formulate and evaluate the efficacy of Angelica keiskei (AK) leaf extract in serum gel as an antioxidant and tyrosinase enzyme inhibitor. Methods: The leaves of AK were extracted using the maceration method, while the antioxidant and tyrosinase enzyme inhibitory activities were determined using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and L-Tyrosine as assay and substrate, respectively. Subsequently, the extract was formulated into serum gel and evaluated for physical stability, antioxidant and inhibitory activity to tyrosinase enzyme. Results: The results showed that AK leaf extract has antioxidant activity, with an IC50 value = 7.73 mg/ml, while the tyrosinase enzyme inhibitory power had an IC50 value = 500 mg/ml. Based on physical stability, the serum gel was stable after 28 d of storage. The serum gel of AK leaf extract also showed antioxidant activity and tyrosinase enzyme inhibition with IC50 value of 16.68 mg/ml and 741.62 mg/ml, respectively. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that the serum gel of AK leaf extract has potential as a skin lightening agent and is safe for use as a topical preparation.
Abstrak Stunting menjadi salah satu sorotan utama di Indonesia, karena kejadiannya selalu meningkat. Faktor pola asuh yang buruk dan pola pemberian makanan tidak tepat pada balita merupakan faktor risiko penyebab stunting. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis hubungan pola asuh ibu dan pola pemberian makanan terhadap kejadian stunting pada balita. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain cross sectional. Penelitian ini dilakukan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Cipadung pada bulan Januari-Maret 2022. Populasi penelitian ini yaitu ibu yang memiliki balita. Sampel sebesar 84 responden diambil secara acak. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah alat ukur tinggi badan dan kuesioner. Analisis data menggunakan uji chi square. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa pola asuh ibu (p=0,045 dan POR=2,9) dan pola pemberian makanan (p=0,014 dan POR=3,3) berhubungan dengan kejadian stunting. Pola asuh dan pola pemberian makanan berhubungan dengan kejadian stunting. Pola asuh ibu yang baik dapat mencegah anak mengalami stunting, begitu juga dengan pemberian makanan, jika ibu memberikan makanan yang tepat untuk anaknya, maka anak dapat terhindar dari stunting. Poor parenting and feeding patterns in children are risk factors for stunting. The goal of this study was to investigate the relationship between maternal parenting and feeding patterns and the prevalence of stunting in toddlers. This was a cross-sectional quantitative study. The population of this study was mothers who have toddlers. Samples were taken as many as 84 respondents were taken randomly. The instruments used are height measuring devices and questionnaires. Data analysis used the chi square test. The results of the study found that maternal parenting was related to stunting events (p = 0.045 and POR = 2.9). Feeding patterns are associated with stunting events (p=0.014 and POR=3.3). Parenting and feeding patterns are related to stunting events, good maternal parenting can prevent children from stunting, as well as feeding, if the mother provides the right food for her child, then the child can avoid stunting. Radang tenggorokan adalah peradangan yang terjadi di daerah belakang tenggorokan, dapat terjadi akibat iritasi non infeksi. Triamsinolon asetonida salah satu agen anti-inflamasi, yang mempunyai rasa yang tidak pahit, sehingga dilakukan pengembangan bentuk sediaan triamsinolon asetonida baru. Salah satunya adalah dengan membuat sediaan tablet hisap yang dapat berkontak langsung dengan radang tenggorokan, sehingga dapat mempercepat reaksi penyembuhan. Tablet hisap dibuat menggunakan metode cetak langsung dengan dua jenis pengikat maltodekstrin dengan konsentrasi 10%, 20%, 30%, dan PVP dengan konsentrasi 2,5%, 5%, 7,5%. Dari semua formula yang dibuat menghasilkan massa tablet hisap yang baik dari masing-masing pengikat, karena didasarkan pada kompresibilitas dan daya alir yang sangat baik. Hasil evaluasi tablet dari masing-masing formula telah memenuhi syarat evaluasi meliputi keseragaman bobot, keseragaman ukuran, friabilitas, uji kekerasan, uji stabilitas, dan uji kesukaan tablet hisap, akan tetapi yang terbaik terdapat pada formula ke-3 dari setiap variasi tablet berdasarkan uji kekerasannya, dan formula dengan maltodekstrin 30% yang paling baik karena memiliki kekerasan yang lebih dari formula dengan variasi PVP 7,5%.
Background: The way to improve the stability of jeringau rhizome essential oils is microencapsulation using β-cyclodextrin. Objective: To determine the efficiency of coating the jeringau rhizome essential oil with β-cyclodextrin and examine its thermostability. Method: The microencapsulation method used was freeze-drying with a ratio of 1:20 and 1:30. Results: The microcapsule efficiency at the ratio of 1:20 and 1:30 was 81.67% and 60.70%, respectively. The thermostability test results showed that the degradation constant of 1:20 microcapsule at 50oC and ambient temperature was 0.0054 and 0.0029, respectively, with a half-life of 128.33 hours and 238.97 hours. Meanwhile, the degradation constant of 1:30 microcapsule was 0.0182 and 0.0080, with a half-life of 38.07 hours and 86.63 hours. Conclusion: The highest efficiency is in the ratio of 1:20 with a percentage of 81.67%. In the thermostability test, the 1:20 microcapsule was better protected and had a longer half-life than the 1:30 microcapsule.
