Stunting is a long-term reflection of inadequate food quality and quantity and frequent childhood infections, especially in low economic conditions or poor families. This study aims to analyze the effect of parenting patterns on breastfeeding and complementary feeding, food preparation, environmental hygiene and sanitation practices, caring for children when sick, infectious diseases of diarrhea and Acute Respiratory Infection on the incidence of stunting in toddlers in poor families in Medan City. This research method used a case-control approach. This study was conducted in the Medan City area from November 2022 to December 2023. The study sample population was 364. The study sample was 105 children from poor families by comparing the number of samples in the case group and control samples, namely 35 samples in the case group and 70 in the control group. The sampling technique was carried out using the cluster sampling method. Data were collected using a questionnaire in the form of an interview. The incidence of stunting in children was obtained from the measurement of children's height using a toddler height meter. Data collection used primary data through questionnaires and secondary data through Child Identity Card book data. Data analysis with descriptive univariate analysis, bivariate analysis with chi-square test and multivariate analysis with logistic regression. data processing using SPSS software version 16.0. The results showed that there was a significant influence between breastfeeding and complementary feeding (p-value 0.006) and environmental sanitation hygiene practices (p-value = 0.017) on the incidence of stunting in toddlers from poor families. The dominant factor influencing the incidence of stunting in Medan City is the factor of breastfeeding and complementary feeding that is not good has a risk of 3.473 times experiencing stunting compared to children with good breastfeeding and complementary feeding. The nutrients in the food consumed play a role in determining a person's condition and nutritional status. This research aims to determine the description and relationship between the level of maternal nutritional knowledge and the feeding patterns of mothers who have stunted toddlers in Desa Sumorame Candi Sidoarjo. This research method is analytical observational with a cross sectional approach. The research subjects were 40 mothers of stunted toddlers in Sumorame Candi Sidoarjo Village. Data collection used a questionnaire with guided interviews. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test (significance ?<0.05). Data shows the percentage of mothers with high levels of knowledge about nutrition (5%), medium (27.5%), and low (67.5%) while mothers with appropriate (47.5%) and inappropriate feeding patterns (52, 5%). The chi-square statistical test results showed a relationship between the mother's level of knowledge and toddler feeding patterns (p=0.027). The research concludes that the mother's level of knowledge about nutrition influences the mother's feeding pattern for her toddler.

Abstrak Penyakit diabetes melitus adalah penyakit yang disebabkan oleh kelainan yang berhubungan dengan hormone insulin yang kurang karena ketidak mampuan organ pankreas memproduksinya atau sel tubuh tidak dapat menggunakan insulin yang telah dihasilkan organ pankreas secara baik. Akibat dari kelainan ini, maka kadar gula didalam darah akan meningkat tidak terkendali. Kadar glukosa yang tinggi secara terus-menerus akan meracuni tubuh termasuk organ-organnya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian Survei Analitik dengan menggunakan pendekatan Cross Sectional, yaitu variabel sebab akibat atau kasus yang terjadi pada objek penelitian diukur dan dikumpulkan dalam waktu yang bersamaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Faktor-Faktor Yang Berhubungan Dengan Kejadian Diabetes Melitus di Wilayah Kerja RSUD Bahteramas Sulawesi Tenggara.Hasil: hasil uji statistik dengan menggunakan uji chi square di dapatkan bahwa ada hubungan antara pola makan dengan kejadian diabetes mellitus. hasill statistik dengan menggunakan uji chi square di dapatkan bahwa ada hubungan antara aktivitas fisik dengan kejadian diabetes mellitus. hasil statistik dengan menggunkan uji chi square di dapatkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan antara umur dengan kejadian diabetes mellitus. Kesimpulan: Ada hubungan antara pola makan dan aktifitas fisik dengan kejadian diabetes mellitus di wilayah RSUD Bahtermas Kendari Tahun 2023. Tidak ada hubungan antara umur dengan kejadian diabetes mellitus di wilayah RSUD Bahtermas Kendari Tahun 2023. Kata kunci: pola makan; aktivitas fisik; umur; diabetes melitus Abstract Diabetes mellitus is a disease caused by disorders related to insulin hormone deficiency due to the inability of the pancreas to produce it or the body's cells cannot use insulin that has been produced by the pancreas properly. As a result of this disorder, the sugar level in the blood will increase uncontrollably. Continuously high glucose levels will poison the body including its organs. The type of research used is Analytical Survey research using a Cross Sectional approach, namely causal variables or cases that occur in the object of research are measured and collected at the same time. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of diabetes mellitus in the working area of Bahteramas Hospital, Southeast Sulawesi.Results: the results of statistical tests using the chi square test found that there was a relationship between diet and the incidence of diabetes mellitus. statistical results using the chi square test found that there was a relationship between physical activity and the incidence of diabetes mellitus. statistical results using the chi square test found that there was no relationship between age and the incidence of diabetes mellitus.
