A synthetic pathway leading to benzo [o] pyrene labeled with 13C (90%) in the 7-10 positions is described. The work has also produced labeled precursors which can be used for the synthesis of benzo[o]pyrene-7-13C or -8-13C 7,8-oxide and benzo[a]pyrene-9-13C or -10-13C 9,10-oxide. The 13C NMR chemical shifts were determined for C7, C8, C9, and C10 of benzo[a]pyrene by using the labeled products.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
